This is a very busy place and it’s hard to get a seat without a reservation. The food was a bit expensive but then again its Banff. The service was good. Food wasn’t mind-blowing. We had the calamari, octopus, and the seafood linguine. The calamari and the sauce that came with it was great, the octopus was too charred but they replaced it, and the linguine was average.
Drove to Banff for a mini getaway last week. After hotel check in and everything, it was getting late and we were starving. I was craving Greek so we decided to go to Balkan. We didnt have any reservation but we got lucky to be seated right away. This place is nostalgic as this is the restaurant we celebrated our first year anniversary 4 yrs ago… our server was very friendly and helpful with the menu. I decided to go with Arni Psito (Fall Off The Bone 12 Hour Slow Roasted Lamb Shank) and my fianc went with Lamb Souvlaki. Both mains were amazingly delectable. We got Caesars for drinks and some Roasted Pita with Olive Tapenade while waiting for the main course. It was still the same feeling as our very first time at this restaurant. We enjoyed the night and felt surfeited that we were not even able to look at the dessert menu after we devoured our meals. Would definitely recommend checking out this Greek place in the heart of Banff.
