We ordered 3 bison burgers and a salmon burger. They were phenomenal!!! SO fresh and full of flavour, cooked immediately, NOT pre-cooked. They had tziki on them. Looooved it! I’d definitely go running back next time I’m in town!!!!
This is a tiny restaurant on bear street. My wife and I went there hearing a few reviews. Boy! the owner was one grumpy old man. We had the lamb souvlaki and lamb donair wraps. Tasty but could have more meat in it. Not much of a dining experience to write home about. The grumpiness of the owner only made it worse.
My girlfriend and I visited this establishment today after a busy day of running around. We ordered our meals and halfway through eating decided that we had worked up a thirst and decided to order two drinks. Boy was this a mistake. Bill (who was the older of the two staff members working) proceeded to complain about the charge that they would incur due to us paying for the drinks in a separate transaction using a credit card.I guess age and some notoriety has made Bill forget about manners and that we are paying customers . He continued to make snickering remarks to the other staff member about us and ignored us to chat up the other family being served. We did not put up a fuss at all and were quiet, respectable customers.I will be instructing my friends and family to skip this place as there are so many wonderful places to eat in Banff. Overall the food was average at best, I would say an average burger / knock off Opa’s. Definitely not worth the hassle of dealing with terrible customer service.
Pita was seasoned well even omitting tzatziki by request. Lamb skewer was very nice & Greek salad was good despite being more salty than feta provided. He stalled at first when I asked for just a skewer with salad as he’s used to doing pittas but got just what I wanted. Veggies weren’t perfectly fresh but felt nourishing going down anyway. Small with 10 stools at counter. Teeny unmarked washroom but clean. Try Barpa out.
The last time we came to Banff, we just happened to have our first meal at Barpa Bill’s. None of the other meals on the trip were as good. On our current visit to Banff, we are planning to make multiple stops here! The Barpa Bison Burger is especially notable – a perfect balance of flavors and textures.
Had the lamb souvlaki and fries. Fries were homemade and cripy and the souvlaki was just OK. There wasn’t a whole Lotta meat for the size of the wrap. Mostly lettuce and tzaziki but tasted alright. Just wished there was a bit more meat.
Had a lamb souvlaki & it was yummy! Paid $10 for it…. Though it was a bit expensive for what you got.
