Attended the halloween gala at the Banff Springs Hotel. Out of this world food, beverages and entertainment. The castle is a must do for all halloween enthusiasts.
Great buffet offering here in Banff. The Fairmont is obviously a Banff institution most will check out while there so why not enjoy a good quality buffet while you’re at it. There’s many choices from kids food fare (chicken fingers, fries, pizza) to seafood, pastas, meats, and classic breakfast options. My favorites are the mussels, shrimp with their house made cocktail sauce (the best!), delicious Brie bake in phyllo pastry and served with a marmalade and some of the specialty meat options they have. The orange juice continues to be replenished in your glass and the service is always very welcoming. Never once did I feel as though I was rushed and even pushing towards the end of the buffet service they are always very accommodating to those who are still eating, visiting and enjoying coffee. Have made it a point to always stop in when we’re in the area.

Rip off. We went for dinner one night at the Bow Valley Grill. It was atrocious. We were shocked to find out it was a buffet – while advertised as a nice restaurant. Every part of the resort is a rip off… Valet parking is $30 per evening. There is no one to help young your way through the cavernous resort. The champagne I ordered came flat. We waited 20 minutes to get our first drinks. Screaming children were running around. The food was inedible. And the bill – for two people at a classless buffet – was $230 dollar. A second shock. I felt compelled to write this review because we went to the Fairmont excepting an elegant and romantic atmosphere. We found Lubys with an outrageous price tag. I hope you can avoid this mistake
This place is great. And really expensive. Yuppies will love it!
I had dinner at the bow valley grill and it was amazing !! I would give it a five star review. Great wine selection, colorful salads and hot apps. I had the apargus rosoito and my friend had a alberta tenderloin. One of the best meals I have ever eaten !!
Decent Breakfast. Although I’m a big fan of Fairmont and love to flaunt my FPC Platinum status, I do recognize that (at times) their restaurants aren’t at the same caliber as their hotels. While in Banff, I stayed at Banff Springs so the Bow Valley Grill was perfect for that quick-dash breakfast before hitting the slopes. They do a decent quality breakfast (I their breakfast buffet) that was more than hefty enough to hold one over until lunch and probably enough calories to hold one over until dinner. The food wasn’t particularly unique or memorable but it was good quality and service was great.
