My husband and I ate here when the steak and wine special was on. My steak (top sirloin) was delicious and cooked as requested- med rare. The veggies were good- baked potato and fixings were fresh and real bacon bits! Salad bar had good variety and were obviously freshly prepared. Husband had lasagna which he enjoyed although it had a bit too much mozzarella cheese. Service was friendly and timely. All in all an enjoyable meal, especially for the price!

I used to take my wife to Bumpers at the old location. The experience at the older location was bar none we always enjoyed the food just something about the old location the new location doesn’t have It was my first visit at the new location, I felt the new location was a step or two down. It seemed like another restaurant in a hotel location. Dont get me wrong.. the restaurant was clean, well kept and the service was great! We ordered the Prime and added the lobster tail for an extra $7. The lobster tail was small and the Prime rib and salad bar. I found was bland lacking spices however it melted in my mouth and I was happy I wasn’t a vegetarian. I ordered a beer and my wife ordered a drink the staff doesn’t seem to excited on selling drinks especially at the bar. My daughter (7 yrs) ordered from the kids menu. The kids menu for this type of restaurant was outstanding and a great value. For $12 she got a kids cut Prime rib, rice, salad bar, drink and and ice cream. Overall I was with my family and the staff at bumpers insured we had good time. Not to worry we will be back!

We have visited Bumpers about 5 or 6 times and thought I would try a few menu items prior to rating. Everything from the Salmon to the Pile o’ bones has been very delicious. When paying a higher price for a meal I do not love a salad bar, and getting my own salad. But they do have a great wine list, good beer selection and great food. The only reason I rated a 4.5 is due to the hit & miss service.

Last winter we booked a stay at a hotel near by and were surprise when the room came with a gift card for Bumpers Beef House. We were even more surprised by the food. We each ordered the Filet Mignon (hey why not!) and it was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection, and the yam fries were amazing. We’ve been back since and will continue to happily return.

WHAT HAAAAAAPPENEND TO MY OLE BUMPERS?. We’ve been stopping in at Bumpers since 1983. We traveled between Calgary and N. Idaho every weekend. We even made several 6 hour driving trips from N. Idaho to take friends to eat at Bumpers. So, It’s been a few years since we’ve been back. This weekend we drove up with friends to spend the night and have our usual delicious prime rib dinner. What a disappointment. The old Bumpers is no longer open. The Rundle Hotel purchased the name from the previous owners. That’s all that’s the same. Terrible service, awful, overcooked prime rib that was cold and almost unedible. My wife sent her’s back 3 times before she finally said don’t worry about it, I’ll take it home to my dog.My 86 year old mother ordered the petite 5 oz prime rib and didn’t even eat it. I put it in a to go box and eventually threw it in the garbage when I stopped for gas that night. $23 bucks down the drain, $30 bucks down the drain for my wife. After 30 years of good food and great service we certainly are disappointed and won’t be back. If I were you I’d steer clear of this disasterous place.

New Year’s Eve 2014. Family New Year’s Eve dinner out. Made a reservation, yet had to wait for a table to be set for us. Ordered drinks and one drink was wrong. Server not very apologetic about it and made it seem it was fault of person ordering that she brought the wrong drink. When finally taking our order, it wasn’t until after one member of our party ordered a meal with baby back ribs that we were informed that they were out of them for the evening. This was at 8pm. Another member ordered a New York steak and we were again informed after ordering that they had no New York steak. Salad bar was mediocre at best, ribeye steaks were extremely thin and fatty. Asked for bbq sauce or some type of steak sauce for one our children’s meals and after 30 minutes when the server came back to our table without any sauce we asked for our bill. She asked if everything was to our taste and we said some was and some wasn’t. She didn’t inquire any further and seemed very confused as to why we would state that. We explained that it was frustrating to us as customers and embarassing to the restaurant that they ran out of several dishes they are known for. Also, about 30 minutes before we left, we overheard another server state that they were now out of prime rib, the dish they are best known for! Very, very disappointed and will not be going there again and will definitely not recommend this establishment to anyone I know.

Time Tested Review !. Our family has been coming to Bumpers Beef House for well over 30 years. When you get generations from old Alberta families coming back again and again. You know that beef is the best. When we booked into our favorite hotel (Rundlestone Lodge) we were advised that Bumpers is now located in the Lodge. We were surprised and delighted .This is what you would call a win win situation !. Our special birthday dinner was awesome , but then we knew it would be nothing less.
