The two of us were seated in a very comfortable booth upon arrival for our 830 pm Saturday reservation. The atmosphere was very pleasant for casual fine dining. Most of the music played was from the 80’s and set to a pleasing level. Service was great, but server had a lot of face jewelry which was a bit off-putting. We selected a bottle of red wine from the large list to accompany our choice of steak – a large millionaire’s cut wagyu beef medium rare with some side dishes. The steak arrived cooked to our liking, but it was not tender at all. The taste was fine but the texture was more like a cheap and tougher cut. As expected, the steak arrived with a lot of fat, however, the fat was rubbery and chewy and not edible. With only the non-fatty parts to eat, the 20 ounce steak wasn’t enough to share and we had about 4 ounces each to eat. This was the first time trying wagyu beef and we were very disappointed. The sides were all very delicious. For dessert we ordered the cheesecake which was delicious and a generous portion, but the crust was much too hard and required unreasonable force in order to break it with utensils. The rock-hard brittle crust was also disappointing on the palate..made from crumbs which are much too mealy. The bill came to 230$. I would probably return here to give it a second chance and try a different type of steak, but will stay away from wagyu beef and the cheesecake.

Oddly enough we came upon this place by chance. We intended to go to the grizzly house but it smelled like rendered fat and didn’t feel like that was how we wanted to spend the evening. We came in on a Saturday night not really sure what to expect, After a 5 minute wait we got a booth for two of us that could seat 6. No concerns with me but the lineup at the door for the rest of the night might have thought otherwise.I had read over the menu and really liked what i was seeing, in fact i had some trouble deciding between the dry aged t-bone, the wagyu ribeye or the cowboy tomahawk ribeye. What a predicament indeed. Our waitress brought them over on a giant platter so we could look at them. Nice touch. We were both planning to order 12oz ribeyes, so after seeing the platter and the 40oz cowboy cut, we decided to go for it.We also ordered an arugula salad, fries and mushrooms. The steak came out sliced into perfect 2 bite chunks spread across a giant cutting board with a 2 foot bone and Bearnaise sauce made from beef fat.One of the best steaks of my life. Perfectly cooked (for me, slightly under for my lady friend) completely full of flavor from a superior cut of meat, the Bearnaise sauce was decadent and a welcome addition to this mountain of meat.I enjoyed the arugula salad and it did help at times when it was getting a bit rich. But the mushrooms are a must order in my opinion. A chunk of steak with a nice mushroom dipped in the Bearnaise sauce is the highest level of food overindulgence. I mean that.Out of some glutinous rage, we managed to eat 40oz of ribeye, a tray of mushrooms and a gravy boat of Bearnaise sauce. we had zero regrets with our decision.I’m sure this wont come as a shock but an impeccable 40oz slab of meat with a bottle of champagne and 3 sides is very expensive. More than our hotel for the weekend in fact. But I’ve never had trouble paying for quality and i believe i got my moneys worth here. I have dreams about that steak.Prepare to drop some cash, but this is bucket list level steak they serve here.

Came here for the Banff Food Adventure. Ordered the charcuterie, prime rib entree, and the specials from the food Adventure menu. Everything was amazing and cooked perrrrrfectly! The portions on the charcuterie board was sooo generous we didnt expect it at all (its typically a few slices of meat with couple small wedges of cheese). But this board was like a meal on its own for just two of us and we enjoyed everything on the board. The prime rib was super tender and juicy! The tasting menu came with Wagyu Tasting and everything was seasoned well, tenderized wagyu beef steak, ribs, and sausages. Nothing to complain about. Dessert was a mud pie and it balanced out the heavy meal very well in the end. Would definitely recommend coming here for excellent Alberta beef!

Fantastic steak! I’ve been here twice now for larger group events. The back room upstairs is huge. The food is awesome – I love the mac n cheese arancini balls and of course their steaks.

Amazing food! Sunday and Monday night they have A la carte menu for 35$, app, entre and dessert! Meat was extremely tender, appetizers were original and delicious!

Awful customer service. Turned up and was told it would be an hour wait on a Wednesday night, which was fine had there not have been lots of tables sat empty. Left our name on the list with our number for them to call us when a table was free and never heard from them. Not going to waste my money on an establishment that doesn’t value customers, especially at the prices they charge.

One of the best steaks I have ever had! We had the pepper crusted beef tenderloin, garlic cheese bread, and baby potato gratin! The steak was cooked to perfection and the sides were delicious! We had the bernaise sauce and beef jus with the steaks and both were awesome additions. Service was also very good. They even gave a free dessert as it was my wife’s birthday. This place is definitely the real Alberta beef experience! Will be back for sure!
