Pleasantly impressed. Being I’m a vegitarian, i often only have a few relatively similar options when I go to restaraunts. When we walked into El Toro, I had no expectations. I decided to have the Portobello mushroom grilled salad with a balsamic reduction to start and a stuffed portobello mushroom for my main dish. It was so unbelievably good I cant stop thinking about it and planning to go visit banff just to eat there again. 🙂
Underwhelmed. Ordered four tapas dishes and found all three bland, except the guacamole with plantane chips.
Pretty Good Breakfast. Had the eggs benedict. They were very good but I would like to ask the chef to consider toasting the english muffin before putting it together. The texture of an untoasted english muffin does not match well with eggs benedict, especially the smoked salmon variation. The hollandaise was excellent.
Best Burger!!!. I’m somewhat of a burger fanatic and I have to say this is the best burger I’ve ever had. So many distinct flavours but all complimenting each other. I can’t say I’ve ever had such a complex and amazing tasting burger. If there ever was a gourmet burger this is it.
The service was friendly but the food was lackluster.
