What happen to Rocky Mountain Chocolate company in Banff??… these guys are trying to replicate what Rocky Mountain had with less superior products. After a nice long hike we decided to stop and get our sweet toothes filled and man were we dissapointed. We bought 4 turtles (or their equivalent) sponge toffee covered in chocolate, a skor and plain caramel apple. Not sure where they get their chocolate but it had the waxy texture of chocolate you would find in the Dollar store. The spongetoffee was SO hard that we could not bit into it and a knife wouldn’t even do the trick. We ended up throwing the works out and keeping the apples. The apples were palatable but no where near Rocky Mountain caliber. It’s sad and aggrevating that these guys are passing themselves off as a superior product to all those tourists in Banff and almost doing it under the same name as RMCC.
Tasty and Awesome Service. I never take the time to reviews but I have to today. I stopped in during the Alberta Winter Games. I assume it was the owner, but not sure, asked if I’d enjoyed the chocolates they’d provided for a Games’ reception I was at the previous night (not sure how he knew I was there). (I told them they didn’t last more than an hour with me). I ordered some fudge after he gave me a bit of a lesson on flavouring. And then he could tell I was wavering on a few other items and he packed them all up, said thanks for my business and charged me next to nothing. It was really unexpected and combined with how welcoming the store is, I encourage everyone to visit and at least have a piece of fudge!
I will never visit this store again. I came here around 9 45 and saw two couples walk In and there was another one already in the store. I went to grab the door and a young man held it shut and flipped the sign to closed. My boyfriend tried talking to the man through the door saying people just went in why can’t we, and he ignored us. I’ve never had such a rude encounter in my life, let alone at a chocolate store in banff… I suggest for you to support other chocolate businesses in banff that value your purchase.
