Rude Service, the boss woman was absolutely horrible, and spoke so rudely to us, it was busy tonight, we understand, we simply asked her to check how much longer would the food be served (all she needed to say was sorry, it’s busy, i will go and check it for you), but instead, she instantly got defensive and said it’s busy tonight, and asked us how long we have waited for, we told her about 30 mins (in truth, it was 27 mins), she got angry that we said 30 mins, she said no way it has been 30 mins!! But the truth is, it was about 30 mins, we timed it knowing it was busy when we ordered the food). She then shouted at us angrily to leave if we want to, she said she doesn’t care, and told us that she has to wait in McDonalds for 30 mins for her food as well (so now she’s comparing her restaurant to fast food chain McDonalds?? and i don’t think anyone has to wait for 30 mins in maccas) We later found out she’s the boss, no wonder she has a big bad attitude! Normally Thai ppl are so nice and courteous! She definitely was not! (to the young girl that was serving us, sorry you got to witness this, you should leave and find another job, she’s a nasty boss!)As for the food, we ordered Chicken Cashew Nuts, but seriously there was mostly veggies! not much chicken at all and the taste was really bland, we had to get the chilli sauce and smothered the dish!! Same as the Pad Thai, again not much chicken!! but at least it tasted better. the coconut rice was not at all coconut rice, normally the coconut rice is cooked in coconut milk or cream, but for this restaurant, we don’t know if they are just busy and making shortcuts or just plain lying, they simply smear a couple of spoons of coconut cream/milk on the top of the rice and served it like that, so once we spooned up the top, the rest of the rice was just plain rice!!!We have been to Thailand and had many many Thai dishes before, this definitely is not an authentic Thai restaurant and the food isn’t that tasty! Added with the rude and horrible service from the boss woman, this was down right bad dinner experience!
I’m assuming it’s very difficult to get ingredients needed to make Thai food here in Banff.. the spring rolls were really good, rice was cooked perfectly.. My red curry fairly bland and the pad Thai tasted like instant noodles in a bed of soupy sauce it was 58$ with auto grat for two dishes, rice and spring rolls
