Have been here for breakfast a few times since they got rid of Phil’s and replaced it with that stupid and unnecessary chinese food restaurant.Service is hit and miss here – some of the servers are friendly and attentive, while others couldn’t care less about serving you.The breakfasts are good and the portions are big which really helps this place out.I’m surprised it’s like this, being inside a hotel, you’d think the service would be better since I’m sure they get a lot of patrons who are staying in the hotel, in for breakfast/lunch/dinner.
Breakfast at Ricky’s! So, like every other all day breakfast chains, Ricky’s is up there with the likes of Denny’s, Perkins, and Smitty’s. All pretty much the same, fairly decent food, HUGE portions, and your destined to take home a doggy bag. Pricing is typical high end Banff prices, but always a comfort food, hangover day, all round breakfast place to be.
Bad service/unchewable food. My family and I met there for lunch. There was only one other couple in the place. We waited an hour and a half for our food, had to flag down a waitress for coffee, and the prime rib was too tough to cut with a knife let alone eat. No one came to check on us or let us know how long it would be. Waiters would walk by and purposely avoid eye contact. They then told us they’d discount our meal, but first they added that same amount as tip to the bill without our consent or letting us know anywhere previous to the meal that they put a tip on the bill. Terrible service. Crappy food. If you don’t mind waiting 2 hours to eat then go ahead.
Unacceptable, Extremely Disappointed.. We had a party of 5 people, we were told it would be a 5-10 minute wait. We waited for over 20 minutes, even though there were lots of empty tables. Once we were finally sat, we ordered drinks, these came in 15 minutes. We ordered our meals, after 45 minutes three of our meals came out. We waited another 15 minutes for the other two meals, we couldn’t find our server so we finally asked another. He went and checked on the other two meals and came back and asked what they were. They hadn’t been rang in. Lettuce was brown and soggy, the toast was burnt, they gave us a discount. But the bills were incorrect, we asked to speak to the manager. The manager was extremely rude and inconsiderate. We will never be eating here again.
I dont think anyone knows how to cook eggs or anything else basic. Also served cold coffee.. Had nasty cheese in my benny. Could not eat my meal.
Don’t Ever Eat Here! Worst Experience! Horrible Servers and even worse Food. This was the worst dining experience I have ever had. Food was completely inedible. Server brought the wrong food to the table beside us, and then tried to convince them that they should eat it despite his mistake since he didn’t want to fix it. My eggs benedict was awful and it remained untouched. Server never checked on us, and brought us the bill with our food. We were not given drinks, despite asking for them several times. Do not eat here. I’d rather starve than subject myself to such terrible food. I complained to the manager and didn’t even receive an apology. As a server for over 9 years, I can be very empathetic towards restaurant staff however this was simply unacceptable.
Terrible service. terrible. service.. Even with the breakfast being free from the hotel, it was hard to go back the second morning servers are Wiley and elusive much like any of the wildlife you may expect to see in banff they must be seeked out and pursued. Food was actually decent. Unless this meal free, and even then its a tough choice. Don’t eat at ricky’s
