Friendly service both times we came, have great suggestions. Food was fresh & delicious. The chili goma sauce is to die for! The chicken spring rolls were a really good start to the meal.
I think the portions are much too small for the price tag. The service is lovely and super friendly. Ramen was decent but Ive tasted better. I did enjoy my squid ink noodles.
We ordered poke bowl & ramen today and it’s just BAD!!! The ramen tasted worse than the noodle soup I cook at home & a bag of instant noodle. Not sure how they survive on this busy street of 17ave. Poke bowl doesn’t even taste or look like the poke bowl from Hawaii. It’s probably the worst restaurant I have tried in recent yrs plus the price we paid for……….Honest advice……Go & learn how to cook before opening a restaurant……And the only server in the restaurant sit & ate at around 6p – the busy hour of a restaurant…….So unprofessional…..
Great place on a busy street. Came here with our little family of four to get out the cold on a Sunday at lunch. Had read an online review of the top Ramen places in Calgary for 2018. It didn’t disappoint.Chef and waitress/hostess were very friendly. They even changed the only TV that was playing some Japination to something more kid appropriate. Very appreciative of that as I have a 3 and 9 year old.We started with Fries with Mayo. Excellent. Chives sprinkled on the fries were a nice touch. It was a good appetizer to start while we waited for our Ramen.Kids shared a Traditional Tonkotsu and I had the same with an extra egg. Broth was flavourful and not too salty. Noodles were Al Dente (or qq as my wife would say). Wife had the Chili Goma Ramen – It had just the right amount of spice without being too over powering; you could still enjoy the flavour of the broth. Only negative is the pork was probably too thick and as a result a little tough. That being said, not as much fat as in other places so that’s a plus.Like I said, great to have Ramen on yet another cold day in Calgary. Will definitely come back again. There’s a good selection of appetizers and other main dishes that I’d like to try.Place is small but comfortable. Great service – very friendly.
I’m celiac, so eating out is not always easy. But it is here! They have JFC, Japanese Fried Chicken, that is crispy and drizzled with an incredible sauce. Their fryer is gluten free so I didn’t get sick! The ramen is always delicious and the broth has more depth unlike the other ramen places I’ve tried. Two broths, I discovered, are gluten free, so my options are vast. The servers are always polite and knowledgeable, the chef’s always get my orders right, and they have a take out discount which I discovered a few weeks back!I will most likely be eating there tomorrow as talking about it makes me hungry!
Dropped in for what I thought would be a quick poke lunch. Unfortunately, not. Although it only took moments for the chef to assemble the poke, it took about 15mins for him to get to it in a fairly empty house. Now, my poke experience has really only been in Hawaii, and this just doesn’t compare. I’m neither here nor there if I’d come back.
Waited half an hour. Service was fine but food takes forever. Must have grown the scallions while the other tables who came in after us were fed
