  This inappropriately named hole in the wall take away and small seating capacity restaurant on 17th ave at 4th st. SW has a secret. And my God what a secret it is. They make the best chicken shawarma between here and Beirut ( And I should know because I’ve seen Beirut on a map ) And the Donair is pretty spectacular too. I wish they would focus a bit of store front advertising on proclaiming this secret to the good city of Calgary because it looks like your typical low budget late night pizza joint, but really and truly they make great shawarmas and donairs. As I am told by, (in my opinion) the very friendly husband and wife owners , they make almost all their own ingredients, hummus, tzatziki, tahini, garlic sauce, pickled cabbage, and marinades for the meat rotisseries etc. with the usual options of fresh lettuce, onion, green and hot peppers, tomato, parsley and probably other stuff I’m forgetting. (but that’s what I get anyway)A previous review mentioned some controversy over a lack of a vegetarian option! Well I imagine if you are looking for gluten , lactose, meat and reality free food there are better options in Calgary, but if you fancy a really good large chicken shawarma or donair for $10 look no further than this nice little family run establishment.

  Terrible. Owner was extremely rude and aggressive towards my girlfriend upon asking for a vegetarian option. We were absolutely shocked by his reaction and have never been treated in such a way before. To add insult to injury, the food awful.
