I had to sign up to share an important review. I visited 10th avenue location on March 29th around 9PM. My group was seated next to a gentleman who had private function for his accounting firm yearend with drink tab wristband. After a while, gentleman ordered us two rounds of shots and some beers. At one point, a server asked and I made it very clear this will be added on private function bill and I did not want to start a tab. After we had moved on to play pool, two servers chased my group down and demanded payment for +/- $75. I wanted to call manager on duty however group was unwilling to have this incident drag us down at that moment. My complaint is, I have made my intention very clear that we are not starting a tab and this was still billed to us which had no intention of ordering drinks for the whole table. Follow up with management resulted in offer of free bowling, guestlist(this has a monetary value?), or a table reservation(???). None of us will be choosing this chain unless we have no choice which thankfully is rare.
I went here for lunch to grab some oysters during their Happy Hour deals. It was a Monday afternoon and it was pretty quiet, only two other customers besides our party. In addition to the oysters, we also ended up ordering the chorizo pizza, the roasted pork sandwich, and the clam chowder. The pizza was good, but small for the price point ($17) – could have been a bit bigger to make it worth it. I was particularly excited to order the chowder since I ordered it at another National location and it was excellent. However, the chowder here was disappointing, as it was 90% undercooked raw potatoes that were still crunchy to the bite. The roasted pork sandwich, however, was the absolute winner. Juicy, delicious, and one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten! I have seen some reviews say that the pork is too fatty, but I personally preferred it as I wouldn’t want a dry pork sandwich ;)Now for the oysters. We ordered 3 dozen of them, and while they were good (and some being a bit on the smaller side), every single one had shards of shell in them. Each one we ate, we were met with an unappetizing crunch. We brought this to our server’s attention and the kitchen ended up saying that this bunch of oysters were sandy so it must be sand (and not shell…). Regardless, we were given 50% off our order of oysters for the mishap. So 5 stars for the customer service! I will definitely be returning again.
