Very nice bar/restaurant. Had the Hawaiian beef burger, wAsnt overly impressed. Would have been great if it was homemade instead of a frozen burger. Pineapple slice was definitly out of the can.Fresh is best. Fries were good tho.
Unfortunately it appears that only the negative reviews are making it on here. I feel I need to get the word out that I have thought the opposite about the BD bar lately…I used to think the food was okay(decent pub food), but I was just there last night and last Friday and was so impressed with the quality. I get the same meal every time and it seems it’s improved! The fries have always been awesome, but even better now! My friend always, who lives in nearby Okotoks, always wants to venture out here to eat their potato skins as she claims they are the best she’s ever had. My husband often orders the fish and chips or beef dip and has always enjoyed it. My colleagues and I always have a great time here when we are needing to unwind at the end of the week.Yes, there has been a time or two when a particular waitress has been a bit unprofessional, but it’s unfair to assume that about all the ladies. Most of them are amazing and do a really great job! So please don’t pass on this place based on the previous reviews. It really is the nicest bar around.
Poor Service then ripped off!!. The Black Diamond Hotel has to be the worst Saturday afternoon experiences I have ever had. I will in the future and also recommend that you too stay away from this establishment. We were in the bar for a few hours to have a couple of drinks, some nachos, and bet a little on the horses. The nacho chips we received were cold and when we sent them back to be warmed; it was the end of the world to our waitress. Its at this point our Saturday afternoon went bad we didnt get a smile or talked to it was just another? Overall a very bad attitude and very poor public relations from start to finish. When we received our bill, I had been overcharged by one beer and my girlfriend by at least 3 Caesars. When we questioned the bill my girlfriend was told not to drink so much and she would remember drinking that much. After the manager had a look through our receipts she threw the receipts, while telling the waitress to deal with it and they ended up on the floor, she then informed us we would be paying the full bill. Here is a good laugh for ya, another unsatisfied customer looking for service was the one who picket these receipts off the floor and handed them to my girlfriend she was then told she would no longer be served ever moving forward, and thats all good today in my mind as they are not going to get the opportunity to rip us off again. At that point we left in total shock really, I returned a week later as the situation bothered me; I was also owed for a horse betting receipt I could not get cashed the day we were robbed. When I returned I had a talk with the manager again as well as someone I was told was the owner. The manager outright lied to my face and the owners face about what really went on the previous Saturday and told me she was standing by her girls. Please be warned the customer is never right just the staff here with the bad attitudes. My girlfriend and I have never been treated this way in the past, she has never been told she will no longer be served in a bar in her life and she drinks once a month if that. Disgusting is all I can say. I can not just walk away when I have been wronged, and standby and do nothing when my girlfriend was treated like garbage and with zero respect. I have managed to prevent a dozen or so people from going there this past weekend and spending their money based on our experience. I will continue to do so in the future as ask you to do the same. This is cosmetically a very nice looking place that just needs to change out staff starting with management. Its a great shame a wonderful old building in such a nice little town has earnd great negativity.
Great Atmosphere. I eat here quite often, the food is pretty good… the coffee is terrible though. It’s my favourite bar for atmosphere… it’s a great place to catch a game, shoot some pool with friends, or go out with a few people. Most nights are pretty laid back, wing night (wednesday) and the weekend are usually a little crazier though. Overall, one of my favourite go to places!
Ive eaten here a ton. Food is great. Service is horrific. Nicest looking bar in southern Alberta with the worst service I’ve ever had anywhere. Consistantly.
