I invited three friends to the Red Ox Inn for dinner last Saturday evening, a restaurant that I had not visited for quite some time. I was making a reservation at the last minute and they were the only place that I could get into albeit the early hour of 5:00.We ordered appetizers and main courses from their small menu.Every course we ordered was simply amazing ! I travel to New York several times each year and indulge in their vast choice of excellent restaurants and the food we were served in this small unassuming restaurant was 5 star.We all started with the Beet Salad and the first words out of my mouth were …this is amazing !! Everyone agreed. Each of us had a different entre and the curious thing I noticed was that all of the plates were literally wiped clean ! Everyone was commenting how delicious their choices were.The place could use a decorative over haul but don’t let that keep you away. It is the food ! It is very small so make your reservations well in advance. Enjoy !
