This was a bit of a surprise. There have been many questionable establishments at this location in the past. On the advice of my parents neighbour, I stopped in for lunch. The place was decorated like a typical Calgary neighbourhood pub with a a splash of Scottish and Maritime decor. The food was delicious, especially the meat pies and shepherds pie. Our server was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely recommend this little place to anyone interested in a good neighbourhood pub in SW Calgary.
Live very close to this amazing little Pub. Have been 3-4 times and each time the food is amazing, the service is wonderful, the choices are great… Can’t wait to go back…In addition, it is family friendly until 8pm every day, so I got to bring my daughter (10) yesterday for my birthday and she LOVED the Bobby Burger!
Great service, food was prompt and delicious, big portions. East Coast Poppers were amazing, perfectly light and crispy batter; would highly recommend as a unique alternative to the fish & chips. Seems to have not been widely discovered, so on the quieter side, a nice change from not being able to hear your table mates talking like in other pubs! Would love to see a bit more beer selection, but for a small neighbourhood pub, they’ve got a great thing going!
I’ve been here twice, and both times has been good. The staff have been friendly, the food is very good for pub food, and there’s a good selection of beer (I believe 12 beers on tap, both domestic and import, and also a selection of bottled imports as well). It has a nice atmosphere – it somewhat reminds me of some of the pubs in the UK.As noted earlier, the food has been great every time. The Spitfire wings are quite tasty too (homemade hot sauce). The only downside is that it is a little pricey, but the value is pretty decent for the amount. This place is worth checking out.
We had fantastic service by Lynn. The food was amazing and homemade. I had the Yorkshire Pudding stuffed with roast beef. It was delicious. My husband had the Steak and Mushroom Pie and he said it was excellent. So happy to have a neighbourhood pub! There were 4 other people in our group and everyone was pleased with their meals and the service.
