Great panini!. I have eaten here twice in the last 6 months and had the chicken/cranberry/brie panini with fries. Delicious! Even my fussy husband said it was great! Came with nice hot fries. Service pretty good too, no complaints from us! (and trust me I will complain!)
Went here for the first time today. Got served by Kelsey. She was quick, attentive, and friendly. Ordered the Nachos, which I recommend. Awesome food and good service. Prices are worth the portion sizes. The atmosphere is definitely that of a modern saloon and is quite neat. Will be returning.
I figured after the big flood and the fact that this place had to almost rebuilt I would support them by going there for super. The still don’t get it. Service was better but the food looked like it was prepared by a kid. The BLT came to me falling about. It was supposed to be toasted you would thing. Bread felt like it was in/out of the toaster. The cook couldn’t even place the sides of bread in the same direction. The side of pontine was not hot and the fries were cold the the cheese don’t melt because the gravy was not hot. Why doesn’t this place get it. This type of service does not bring people back and like me I like to share my opinion so others don’t get the same treatment. That’s the last straw and we will not be back.
There isn’t a lot of healthy competition in Bragg Creek, and it sure shows! They were horribly understaffed, and though the girls were pleasant, it was very apparent they were slammed. When my dismal plate of food came out, I wasn’t even upset – it was so sad, I actually felt bad for it! A cheap, hard bun, and a wilty salad that, if I didn’t know any better, could come off as never having seen the light of day. The gravy was a puddle of mush that maintained its shape when i dipped my rock into it. The girls never asked how it was. I can only assume it’s because they already knew. I sat at the bar, and every confused customer sitting at tables placed their orders and paid their bills here. I’m a reasonable person, and I give good reviews too! I only wish that this place could mirror the beauty it is surrounded by in Bragg Creek. There’s another pub on the opposite corner – I can’t speak to it, but next time I am in Bragg Creek, I will certainly opt for it!
Decent enough bar food. Wandered around Bragg Creek one afternoon over the holidays as we’d never been in daylight (only 1 dinner at the Bavarian Inn for one new year’s eve). We were hungry and many other places were closed over the holidays, so we stopped in here for some late afternoon lunch. We ordered the Snake Bites (spicy breaded & deep-fried chicken bits) and an order of their loaded burger and fries. Service was friendly and prompt; the food came out in reasonable time. The snake bites were actually pretty good – nice ‘lil chunks of chicken, and actually had bite to it (I hate it when a menu advertises some heat and you get none). They come with a cooling dipping sauce (some generic ranch-like concoction) for those who need it.The burger was surprisingly good – it wasn’t some sad thin little patty. It was a reasonable thickness, nice and juicy, and the bun held up nicely (without being the overly-crusty foccacia/ciabatta-like breads so many places seem obsessed with using… my soft palate doesn’t need that abuse). The toppings were tasty and fresh (cheese, crispy bacon and the usual fixins) and the fries were nice too.All in all I felt I was fed good food for the price in a casual and friendly place.
Love this place–very saloon!. I’m a local to Bragg Creek, and this is where we go for a cheap and cheerful meal. Mind you, it is a saloon (no kids allowed) and the food is simple–burgers, nachos etc. But they do it well. The nachos are amongst best I’ve had because they don’t scrimp on the toppings and the actual nachos they use are really good. The first time we had the calamari, we were shocked at how good they were–not rubbery at all (second time not quite as good, but still way better than most). Service is always good, and the atmosphere is ‘saloon-like’. Lots of regulars too to make it interesting. We had one bad experience in June or July on a Sunday. Apparently the chef had walked and they didn’t have a replacement. We complained, the owner comped the meal, and we were back with some out-of-towners later in the week and all was great again.Bottom line: if you want good bar food at a good prie with a saloon atmosphere, this is for you.
Do not take in this part of Bragg creek. Food is terrible, we complained to the owner and his wife. The rest of the time the owner scoweled at us while we finished our drinks. Then when you thought it couldn’t get any worse the owner attacks some guy while he was leaving the bar???? We spoke to some locals and they said he is a day time alcholic. um will not be returning ever!
