GUYS, DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!! I dont usually leave negative reviews against any business. This one has gone too far out of the line. I went this affordable sushi restaurant after a while today and I instantly noticed that the ownership of this restaurant was changed because of the price and the amount of food changed. As soon as I got my orders, I had just laughed. Udon was just watery and no taste, the tempura is soggy, sushi was stink and not fresh, especially salmon sushi & dynamite roll(my favourite) were a joke because piece of salmon was unbelievably thin & tiny and dynamite rolls were the worst ever I had. Ive never seen that funny looking salmon sushi and the terrible taste of dynamite rolls before. They must reduce the amount of food on every menu as well. The sad thing is this Banzai used to be pretty good and affordable sushi place to me but I cant go anymore. Whoever took a place of management must realize being way too cheap.
I ordered the sesame beef rice bowl, it was fantastic. My wife ordered the teriyaki chicken rice bowl and it had several bones in it, we weren’t expecting this.If it wasn’t for the random bones in her meal, this would’ve been a 5/5 visit, the food was good and the price was great.
I enjoyed my meal. It’s probably unfair to compare it to Japanese restaurants in Vancouver. If this restaurant was in Vancouver I would not go back but for the experiences I’ve had with Japanese restaurants in Edmonton, I’ll be back here again. It was surprising to learn they close at 9pm on a Friday evening and rather empty for a Friday evening.I hope more people will try them out though.
Not bad but not great. I always have to question the food when it comes out ready before I have even put my debit card in the machine to pay. Today I ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl and the Alaskan rolls with a side of miso soup. The price was reasonable and like I said earlier the food came out very fast, almost too fast. The sushi was not made to order and the smoked salmon on top had that very strong fishy smell I tried one anyways and it definitely was not fresh. The beef bowl was decent I liked the sides and the portion size was good. Overall I would rate it as good for a fast lunch but stay away from the sushi.
Excellent food. A wonderful take out and dine-in restaurant; faster than McDonalds and MUCH better and healthier food. sesame beef is to die for and reasonably priced at $7.95 for a healthy serving. yummy!
Legit Rice Bowls. Steamed sticky rice, fresh vegetables, sauted beef and that steak sauce from Japanese Village…….Or very similar, not sure.Had the beef bowl for lunch AND dinner, it was so big. My friend had the Banzai Roll and some sort of delicious Salmon Roll with a tasty sauce drizzled on top. We get on the highway a lot and this will be our convenient stop. They even put our miso soup in coffee cups! Nice people too – ask and you shall receive! Thanks Banzai !!!
Not a sushi fan but I love the tempura bowl with just veggies and the sesame sauce and they’ve never gotten it wrong.
