Great Service, it’s a late review but thought I should share my experience here, I’ve gone 3 times in the last two months and I’ve got to say when I crave sushi Kabuki is the first to come in mind, coming from Vancouver which is sushi central for Canada, I’ve gotta say that this place is fresh as fresh can get! It’s quite apparent even with their Avocado Rolls, service is quite good as well! Will be coming back soon!
The rolls were tight and hard. Something you would eat from Tokyo express. I work two minutes away from here. Will no longer come here. They lied about GLUTEN FREE!!!! They don’t know the definition of gluten FREE!! HAD to call the wrong location to complain!
My first time at kabuki and it was really good. We had a lovely and attentive server, the food came out relatively fast, and everything tasted great. Really enjoyed the oiler roll and the udon. I will be coming back for sure.
Excellent food, service, atmosphere. Way better than the one near University. This is my to-go place for sure. Also the packaging was good! (With all the utensils and sauces!)
I used to like this restaurant when it was owned and operated by a middle-aged Japanese couple. The food quality was outstanding, portion sizes were decent and prices tolerable. I don’t know what happened then: maybe they retired and sold it? But since the original owners disappeared about a year ago, it all has been just a steady decline. Dishes got simplified. For example, the cabbage salad which comes with beef yakiniku used to be made of really thinly sliced cabbage, which made it special. These days it is just regular shredded cabbage like coleslaw with a blob of sauce. But what really aggravates things is how portion sizes shrank. Chirashi that I ordered tonight was really half of what it used to be, five or six pieces of fish, a couple of shrimps and that’s that! It did not even come with shredded daikon, a piece of cucumber, or at least some attempt on garnish. No miso soup starter, either. This is both sad and a outrage – I do not think I will be coming back again.
Randomly stumbled upon this place because the other Japanese restaurants that we went to were too busy and man am I happy that we did! It is beautifully decorated/authentic (can’t tell on the outside) and the food is incredible. Everything we ordered (all 4 dishes) was a 5/5 and it was so cheap! Best sushi place in Edmonton and best priced! You will not be disappointed.
This restaurant is REALLY good. I think this Japanese spot is on par with Izakaya Tomo and Japonais Bistro. Everything in this place is authentic. The atmosphere, decor, service, and food. Authentic. Definitely a pleasant surprise for me. I would definitely come back! Tako Yaki and Blazing Unagi highly recommended!!!
