Slow service, cold food, smelly, dirty, server prep area and restrooms. I’ve been here in the past and it was good, I’m sad to report that it did not meet any criteria in a good dim sum on the day we went. I took one bite and couldn’t eat any more. We reported our experience to the Owner/Manager. He did offer that if we were to come back, he would ensure that we received hot food but given the cleanliness issues, we would not return.

The short version is that Beijing Dim Sum is OK, food, but more expensive than other dim sum resto’s so one would only hope that the quality would be better. Maybe I just don’t have an appreciation for dim sum, I don’t know, I do know I love Chinese food but dim sum has never really done it for me. I love the concept of the food being carted around and picking what looks good as it comes by. But my problem with Dim sum is it ends up being a lot of low quality meats in wraps, breadings, and sauces. There is rarely a vegetable to be seen. Let alone anything that isn’t gummy or or greasy in texture. Usually I end up walking away feeling really gross. Beijing is a departure from the really low quality ingredients, but not in terms of the startchy, meaty, greasy, selections of dishes, and unfortunately it is also a departure from the typical inexpensive price point for dim sum. So beijing exchanges savings for quality. This is nice and all, but I still found myself dying for something on the lighter side. If they came around with bowls of fresh fruit or steamed veggies or something at one point that’s really all I could ask for, it would have really bumped the experience up for me. Firm 3.5. I’d go back if I was in the mood specifically for dim sum but I would sooner decide on other types of cuisine.

I just made it for dim sum all ordered a bunch of food cause I love me some dim sum. I got the pot stickers, deep fried squid, steamed pork ribs & shanghai pork dumplings all this for $22. The pot stickers were fantastic but rarely have I ever tried a bad pot stickers the steamed ribs were also delicious not sure what the sauce on them was but delicious. The fried squid was rubbery but tasted great with nice light crispy exterior & the shanghai dumplings tasted fine but had a weird texture that was hard to get past. I wanted to try more but was after 3 so no more dim sum need to get back to try more.
