Meh? I keep trying this place, as I keep feeling like Im missing something. The reviews and awards are kind of baffling to be very honest! I will say first, that the Chow Mein in a Box is very good in its simplicity and taste, and the dumplings are decent as well. If I do order here, those are my go-to items for sure. Ive tried various other dishes here as well, and have really disappointed to say the least. The chicken balls are totally inedible due to the shear amount of batter used. The ginger beef was soggy and tasteless, and the chicken fried rice was a little on the salty side for sure. Great ambience inside, and friendly staff though!
I don’t know about the buffet but don’t order take out. My boyfriend and I ordered through Skip The Dishes and the delivery took forever. It was over an hour and then we got the food. Boy oh boy was that something. We both got combination dinners for 1 with 1 spring roll, wonton soup, chicken fried rice, and 2 items of choice. Well, the spring rolls were soggy and cold. The soup was barely lukewarm. The chicken fried was was okay except for the chicken, it was so dry they might as well have labelled them as chicken croutons. The ginger beef we both got was sauceless and hard. I seriously mean hard. The batter on the outside was stale and the beef was like jerky. My beef and broccoli was pretty much just broccoli and it was swimming in tasteless, translucent sauce and my boyfriends Szechuan chicken had been cooked to hell too. He tried calling to see if we could get the order fixed but since it was too close to their closing time they said all they could do was offer us a credit for 1 combination dinner for one for our next order. I promise you that will be going unused because we have no intention of ever ordering from them again.
Went for a post-baptism party. After getting the kids their plates I was at the end of the group. Probably 1/3 of the trays had no food left. Understandable with a big group, but then I went up seven more times between the kids and myself and saw very little come out. We stayed around an hour and some of the selections (the more expensive ones) sat empty until we left, never once did I see food in them. I can say the food that was there wasn’t bad. Not great, but better than most buffets. I just wish I could have tried the rest of it.
