We had Jane Bond BBQ cater our wedding last year. They arrived 1.5 hours late. They fed about 3/4 of our guests (even though our guest number was LESS than what we had told them) and since our venue was outside of Calgary, our other guests went hungry. This is in spite of the fact that a few weeks before our event we clarified with them how much food they were expecting to provide each person and we had opted to increase the per plate food significantly. It’s very embarrassing to run out of food at your wedding and I still feel terrible about it. When we tried to discuss it with Jane Bond BBQ after the event, they did not even apologize for what had happened. We were offered no partial refund on services that we paid for but did not get. We were offered a gift card for a couple of meals. I would not recommend them for catering large events.

I was looking forward to trying a new BBQ restaurant in Calgary. The interior of Jane Bond BBQ is definitely very inviting – from the lovely decor to how incredibly friendly the owner is, you instantly feel right at home. I decided to try the Smoked Brisket with Coconut Cornbread and Baked Beans and Corn as my sides ($15) while my friends both got the Pulled Pork ($14) with sides of fries, creamy coleslaw, and onion rings (add $1 for onion rings). Service was very attentive, but it did take quite a while to get our food. Portions were quite generous. I have to say I was a little disappointed with the brisket – it had a nice flavour but was a little too fatty, and the exterior was verging on burnt. The pulled pork, however, was absolutely delicious – tender and flavourful. My favourite of the sides were definitely the fries (which I think were double-battered) and the onion rings – both really, really good. Being something of a cornbread addict, I was a bit disappointed with the coconut cornbread – it was overdone, dry, and had very little coconut flavour at all. The baked beans were alright, but I prefer it when they’re slightly sweeter. Unfortunately the coleslaw was just weird: way too much mayonnaise (my friend didn’t finish hers). Overall, it was fairly tasty, and I’d definitely recommend getting the pulled pork with fries and onion rings.

This place is just great. My friend and I went there on a Friday night. It wasn’t too busy or loud. The ambience is great and the service was very friendly and attentive. We ordered brisket and two extra sides at $1 each. Which is nuts because the amount of side you get is a lot. My favourite things were the BBQ sauce, bacon wrapped corn and coconut corn bread. I could have eaten about a dozen pieces of corn, it was that good. The corn bread is genius! It is sweet and not dry at all. The macaroni had a smokiness that was so unique. The beans were good but I was missing a bit of sweetness. We ordered the peach cobbler for dessert and let me tell you… I would go there just for dessert. It was amazing. If you go there you must order it. Plus they serve it in a mason jar. Super neat. momnomnomsblog.wordpress.com

Ordered the brisket meal with mac & cheese and coconut corn bread. Came out to $16 and took a while but dang was it worth it !The brisket was flavourful and barely needed bbq sauce, the mac &a cheese was made with real cheese and tasted amazing. I was initially worried about the corn bread (being it was a coconut cornbread) but it tasted amazing and the coconut blended well with the cornbread flavour !Coming back for sure !

Came with a groupon because everyone told us to come. Now I have spent a good chunk of time in the Southern US and I’m up on the BBQ. Maybe for Calgary standards this is good BBQ? We got our take out order, but also ate in, had the ribs and nachos, with sweet tea … or I guess that is what they refer to as sweet tea. I wish they had dry rub ribs. Just regular corn bread, better sweet tea and more choices for BBQ sauces. it was OK. However the nacho’s were kick ass, they were incredible. I would come back for those bad boys. I see a lot of comments with amazing sauces.. but … it’s hard to compare when there is nothing really in Calgary to compare it to, only a handful of BBQ places.. Head to Tennessee and tell me what you think. Meh like I said. OK for Calgary. Good deal with the groupon.

My wife and I had just received a menu for these guys in the mail last week so we decided to check them out. I am so glad we did! The food was amazing! I had the bond burger and my wife had the chicken and waffles. Both dishes were very good especially the burger, which was recommended by our lovely server. It had smoked brisket and this sweet and tangy house BBQ on it. An instant classic! I needed to try the jerk chicken because it looked so good and the sauce they had on the table smelt dynamic. The server suggested that I get a piece on the side. Not to mention the epic Caesar that was an entire meal on its own. I am going back for sure and me and the wife are going to put this place high on the list for places to go when we both don’t want to cook. 10 out of 10. Nice work Jane Bond!

Really cool restaraunt, beautiful decor and friendly staff. I ordered take out as I had a groupon (thankful for the Groupon as I would have never heard of the restaraunt otherwise). We had the combo 2- BBQ chicken (incredible so juicy and so much flavour !! It was blackened but not burnt), pulled pork (so juicy and delicious), beef brisket (pretty good overall some pieces were slightly dry) and 2 sides: mac and cheese (delicious and a great touch with the coconut cornbread crumbled on top) and coleslaw (crunchy And tasty). It was a great meal. I feel for the size it would have been expensive without the Groupon but with the Groupon I felt that it was priced right. Would love to return and sit down to eat – especially to try their $16 Cesar it sounds amazing and like a meal all by itself.
