Ordered take out from here tonight. Food was delicious and ready for pick up in 20 minutes! We ordered the ginger beef, mixed vegetable chow mein, diced chicken with cashews, and stir fry vegetables. Could have had a few more cashews in the cashew chicken but everything was great! We will order from here again.
Found this place on our way home. We were pumped to try a new place to satisfy our craving for some Chinese. Upon our arrival we found that it is a take out spot, which was fine, but looked a lot like a boardroom office where you order from the person on the other side of the desk (actually in an office chair). Odd.But okay. We ordered the Pad Thai, the fried rice, and the beef with snow peas and veggies. :(Pad Thai was terrible, over cooked noodles, super bland, covered up by large portions that we could not simply eat. The Fried rice was okay, but needed us to jazz it up at home, which defeats paying to have someone else prepare food for you. The beef, this was terrible. Rubbery, and over cooked. Swimming in a container of sauce which was more like a soup/bath and the veggies were over salted. Sigh. I wanted to give them a good rating because the mom/pop feeling with staff, but …. $44 later and we are hungry because we can’t eat this.
Jolly Good is just good old Canadian Chinese take out. The food is delicious (I especially like the ginger beef) and the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating of our friends vegetarian diet. Haven’t tried any of their thai dishes so I can’t speak to those, but all the cantonese ones we have tried have been excellent.
Over TWO HOURS later and we are still waiting to get our food. The first time I called, after an hour, they told me the driver had already left. Then another half hour later i called again and was told they were making it and it would be another ten or fifteen minutes. That was thirty five minutes ago. If I wasn’t so hungry I would call and cancel/demand refund.
I’m surprised the reviews this place gets – changed name and management a year ago or so. It’s still the Chinese take out place next to the Killarney Cat Hospital…
Really nice staff… really good amount of food for the price… also above average quality.. Jolly Good Chinese Food has become our go to place for take out. They are fast and friendly. I would suggest them to a friend.
Jolly Good Indeed! :). We order from Jolly Good probably once a month, and sometimes (like this month) twice a month. The food is fantastic, delivery is free and fairly fast (food is usually at our door within 30-45 minutes) and the owners are super nice and friendly. Needless to say I’d recommend Jolly Good to anyone looking for some delicious Canadian Chinese/Thai food.
