Ive been here for lunch a few times. Always get the Chicken Curry lunch box. Comes with rice and a few sides. Perfect sized meal at lunch for less than $10!Also came for dinner once with a client that happens to be Korean. He ordered in Korean, so I have no idea what I was eating, but the place was packed and the food was pretty amazing.
The best, and I mean I best Korean restaurant in the city!! Supreme hot pot, super quality ingredients, and just delicious!!! The staff is extremely attentive and knowledgeable I cant wait to go back and try the bbq!
This is a good place to bring a big group to, the meat is super tasty (the beef short ribs are my favourite followed by the beef bulgogi), the only meat item I wouldnt recommend ordering is the spicy chicken, it tastes bland and the texture is odd (mushy) to me. Other than that I love Korean bbq and being able to cook it at the table but you also get the option to order it directly from the kitchen. Ive been here multiple times and will continue to go back despite the expensive price for the all you can eat menu.
The staff were very friendly but I was a little disappointed in the lack of food selection compared to other Korean BBQ restaurants. Some of the buffet food was cold (the ones that were supposed to be hot dishes, like some of the meats) and the layout was a bit odd, but overall the food was pretty good. The meat pieces at the buffet could be cut a bit smaller too.
The food never disappoints. The marinated beef ribs are so tender and flavorful. We tried the kimchi jungol stew, it was so flavorful, just the right amount of spice, a nice variety of veggies, rice cakes and dumplings.
I’ve been in this restaurant more than once and every time my friends dragged me here. I can say that I really like it once I’m inside eating. The potato salad with greens was very fresh. The mandu dumplings were a little too deep fried but it adds texture. The jap chae was perfectly seasoned and stir fried. The seafood pancake was plentiful for the price we paid. The bibimbap and soups were also spot on. There’s nothing really bad to say about this place except that it can be a little sticky and dirty feeling, but that to me is a sign of excellence. They are too busy running a successful business to keep it spotless. I’m cool with that. The prices reflect upon all of my experiences above and the bang for your buck factor is high. I still won’t venture in here myself because there are just too many great places to eat in Calgary and Korean food isn’t my thing unless my friends drag me here. If you are a Korean food connoisseur, then you have probably been here already.
Eel was delicious, too much for one person but I finished up. Soup was ok. Deep fried dumplings were not really tasty, fried noodle with beef and veggie was a bit too sweet to me but thats the Korean style. Barbecued pork was not bad. Surprised that their kimchi was so so as a good Korean restaurant has to have good kimchi in my opinion. Service was good.
