The broth for the ramen tasted like water and the temperature was lukewarm. The bus boys were attentive. They offered better service than the older woman servers.
I had my first experience and late dinner at Shibuya on Sunday. Upon entering this restaurant was fully packed. We sat down and ordered nigiri sushi and sashimi which included tuna, red tuna, toro, hamachi, sockeye salmon, smoke salmon and tako. After submitting our order the staff came out and said the toro, red tuna and hamachi were sold out. Disappointed after hearing that this sushi restaurant was running out of fish I was only able to try the salmon and tuna at this restaurant. If I knew sooner I would’ve gone to a buffet restaurant as our bill came out to be about 90 dollars. Nigiri sushi here is nothing special. Some of the pieces are bigger but a buffet is a better deal. They also tried billing us for a red tuna roll… seriously. On the positive note their rolls seem decorative. I would not recommend this place for the nigiri sushi due to limited selection and price.
Love the oyster Motoyaki here! Its got a great creamy and cheesy flavour and its so good! The sushi is also good and the raman too! Their lunch bento is definitely worth it and so much selection to choose from!
Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Shibuya Izakaya offers quite a lot on their menu and many of food listed on the menu is delicious. One of my personal favourites are the udon they serve.
Little restaurant right on 16th with some of my favourite sushi in the neighbourhood. I’ve now ordered take-out from Shibuya a few times and I’ve been satisfied every single time. The staff is friendly and the sushi tastes fresh and is super flavourful. Bonus points for providing their take-out in compostable containers!
I wish I took pictures, but everything was just so tasty. The Beef Tetaki was on par if not better than Koto which I believe is the best in the city. I also tried a nigiri piece of scallop and mackerel which were both delicious and fresh. Then I had three regular maki rolls that were fantastic with perfectly cooked rice, which makes me think the special rolls will be even better. The spicy tuna, the dynamite and then sunrise special roll (smoked salmon, scallop, cucumber, tobiko and mayo) where the maki rolls I tried.
It’s your friendly neighborhood Japanese restaurant that you just keep going back to eat at because their food is consistent and tasty. It’s hard not to order too much because everything is really good there. Their rolls are a must have, and I love their oyster happy hour deal on weekdays! My kids love the udon and chicken karaage. It’s also nice to finish off with a coconut surprise dessert because I love the nostalgia of having this as a teenager!! YUM!
