Don’t order a wedding cake from here.. Ordered a plain white, fondant covered 3 tier wedding cake from Jk Bakery. It arrived with a good 3-4 inches of folds in the fondant on each layer (see picture). I called the bakery and asked them if they could please fix this because I know anyone can make a mistake and that is life. But the Baker I spoke to on the phone told me that is as good as it was going to get and to not expect anyone to even try to fix it or a refund. Very disappointed. It looked like a pinterest fail. It would have been comical if it hadn’t been such an important day. We then called back and inquired about wedding cakes and how they do fondant and looked on their website and saw pictures of perfect cakes and were told they always do perfect fondant. Not good business practice to both refuse to fix a mistake and lie.
Pretty sad when there’s leftover birthday cake in the fridge and someone who loves sweets as much as I do isn’t even interested. The frosting is good, as good as any canned frosting, the cake is dry dry dry. A grocery store cake would have been much better.
Good local baked goods, great for a smaller lunch.
If you want a latte go somewhere else.. Went there for coffe, had a large latte, not impressed, I think she forgot to put the expesso in. Watery tasting, not a morning pick-me-up should have gone to Tim Hortons.
Great Little Bakery. We always stop in for a couple fresh Chibatta Buns to make a wonderful sandwich for lunch. Also have tried the cold pepperoni pizza on sourdough crust, delish. The poppy seed roll also a must try.
Verbally Abusive Staff. I am a Canmore local who has been going to JK for years. I have always had great service. However, the other day while stopping by the main location to get some treats I noticed one staff member, a female around 26 treating what looked like a new staff member absolutely horribly!! Everything the young girl did this older employee was breathing down her neck and at one point even implied she was stupid. Now we have all been a new employe at one point and no one ever deserves to be treated this way! The young girl helped me with my treats and she was so pleasant and had the biggest smile. When she was getting my bread the evil employee snapped at her and at this point I said something. The poor girl was holding back tears as she finished up my order. It is not acceptable to treat fellow co workers like this and this young girl, must have only been 16 or 17 does not deserve to be humiliated infront of customers either. Because of witnessing this, especially at the main location of JK, I will not be back. I refuse to support a place, no matter how good the food is if staff are verbally abusive to younger staff!
Delicious Wedding Cakes!!. We ordered our wedding cake through Angie with JK Bakery this past June, and were so happy with it! Angie was a pleasure to deal with, easy to communicate with, and did a wonderful job. We had 3 different flavors, and all were a huge hit at the wedding. We’ve had many comments from guests saying how delicious the cake was. I would definitely recommend JK Bakery to anyone looking for a great wedding cake!
