Service: Basic service, nothing special.Appearance: Need to pay more attention to this, counter and tables needed cleaning and the staff was not busy.Tea: They have a limited selection of loose tea, which to me is always a bonus. A place that has loose tea…but all you get is a cup of hot water with a tea bag…would be nice to have a teapot with strainer and unlimited hot water.Mocha: Excellent, not watery and not weak…well done!Carrot Cake: It was moist and good texture and the icing was not overpowering…I would say just a bit more flavour would make it better.Chocolate Chip Cookie: Good flavour, but a bit greasy and did not seem overly freshBanana Bread: This was good, with a great sugary crunchy top crust.Curry Chicken Soup: Not bad for a cafe in Canmore.Go Again: Unlikely
More home-y and more diverse than the French Le Fournil bakery. We got a veggie samosa, which was perfectly and amply spiced. A spinach and feta spanakopita, which was perfectly seasoned, textured and feta-ed. The ginger cookie seemed slightly dry on the edges, so maybe it was the day before’s. We tried the German apple strudel and rhubarb pie, both of which were amazing and well executed. This place is a good, old fashioned, down-to-earth bakery that does a variety of things very well. Worth checking them out for sure.
This place has wonderful baked goods and sandwiches, great quality and a little bit different from your average cafe. i do agree with some of the other reviews that the service could be much better – last time i was there a very rude young man was bossing around a young lady who was working her tail off. if JK could do a better job with their staffthey would probably get a lot more business!
