One of my favourite stops to have a quick bites of Sushi. Always fresh, quick and delicious. Service was so friendly and server is cute. If you want have traditional Sushi, ( Not too much mayo, not too much source) you should go Marra’s Way Sushi.
Is this restaurant still open? I’ve tried to stop in a couple times during the hours posted on this app but it has been closed both times.
Spent the day in Canmore and saw Marra’s has good ratings so we decided to give it a try. The signage isn’t easily readable when you’re driving by. It’s located right across the street from Communitea. The 5 of us arrived at 12:30 and it wasn’t too busy. Seems like a mom and pop shop. The mom greeted us and the pop would make the sushi. They charge you by the colour of the plates. Go up to the table and grab whatever you want back to yours. The selection was slightly limited however, the creamy scallop tasted very fresh. I enjoyed the 3 sisters which is 3 diff individual sushi. My friend wanted me to include the rigid cups that held the tea fits perfectly for your fingers. Overall, average quick stop for sushi. Friendly and attentive service.
Nope. Worst sushi I’ve had in a restaurant. Tried a number of different rolls and they all tasted the same. Bland and uninteresting. Go somewhere else instead.
WORST. Worst sushi I’ve ever had. Wrote a more detailed review on google. Absolutely nothing was fresh…to the extent we were very worried we were about to get food poisoning. So bad we actually asked for a refund, which I’ve never done at a restaurant before. Maybe this was just an off day because a lot of people seem to like this place. Would never ever go back though.
Gross!. My husband and I love sushi!!! This was one of the worst we have ever had!! Really fishy tasting rolls, and not made as they are described!!! You will be better off going to Safeway and getting the packaged stuff from there. It still makes me gag thinking about it.
Shocked!. I took my family here after reading some good reviews, and can’t believe that people actually have good things to say about this place and that they’re even in business. I was in such shock, I had to reread them just to make sure I didn’t need glasses. It doesn’t take a genius to decifer which are real reviews and which are fake. Any review that goes into detail about the value of their menu is utter bs. My wife is Japanese and currently writing her review in Japanese, something neither of us have done before, let alone together! We have only ever walked out of a couple of sushi restaurants before and we’ve probably ate at 100 of them, many in Japan, Vancouver and Calgary and this is by far, one of the worst. The service was so disorganized that I thought maybe they had just opened for business. Half their equipment on one side of the bizarre layout, and a residential fridge and some recycling on the other side had the server and staff members running back and forth. One staff member returned with some 12-packs of soda they had run out of and throws them on the floor next to their stack of sleeman honey brown empty bottles. We each got a single small ice cube in our cup from the freezer. Looked like he had to ration ice cubes, because they didn’t have an ice maker. All weirdness aside, we still had open mind and ordered 7 of their $2.99 and $3.99 plates, but only half arrived, and we waited 20 before asking the server for the rest. Despite the blunders, it was the sushi that was the most disappointing. It took $30 for us to realize it would take $100 to fill us up and it’s only my wife who weighs 100 lbs,my 3-yr old son and myself. We had to go to subway after just to fill up. We were both in shock over what we had just wasted $30 on.If you’re still curious and believe some of the fake reviews, I recommend walking in, grab a $2 can of soda and observing the staff and the tiny sushi being served before you make the same mistake we did.
