Mina’s is my favorite place for Vietnamese in Calgary! Good food, average prices, good location. Cures my cravings! Let’s face it – there’s not much diversity in terms of whatindividualVietnamese restaurants make, so it’s about doing it right.
Average price, speed, and portions for a Vietnamese Resturant in Calgary. What sets this place out from the rest is their simple, quality, ingredients; not as greasy as you would expect. They have the good chilli sauce (as opossed the chillis in oil) and Chinese style spring rolls. As a self proclaimed Vietnamese Connoisseur, this place is in my top 3. A must try for Vietnamese lovers, or just a quick lunch.
Minas is the best Vietnamese restaurant in the south east. The food is always delicious, and comes very quick! Also, I come here with a friend who has many allergies, and they are always able to make something without the many foods she can’t have. Great price too, and the smoothies are super yummy!
Pleasantly surprised. I visited this restaurant yesterday for lunch, I ordered the Fresh Shrimp Salad Roll, and the Stir Fried Beef Satay & Onion with Lemon Grass on Steam Rice.I enjoyed both, I found that the Rolls did not have the mint leaf in it like some restaurants I have been to, I quite enjoyed it. A little on the bland side, with not a lot of flavor in the middle, but that’s what the brown sauce is for!!The main course was very delicious, the beef was tender and tasty, though I asked which sauce was spicier the curry or the satay, I was told the satay was. This was not very spicy at all, the onions had a very nice char to them and great flavor as well. I find that the dish could use a bit more sauce to it, but again there are the condiments that can be used to spice it up.I will be back here again, I left full, and feel that there was great value in the cost vs. what arrived at my table.
One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurant around Lake Bonavista Area.. I’ve been going to Mina’s for years now both takeout and dining sometimes. My favorite is their spring rolls, salad rolls, grilled pork vermicelli and spicy beef broth noodle soup. Yummmm…Great owner and great service all the time. Never had a disappoint meal before there. I will recommend to everyone here and my friends, too.
No longer good after change of ownership. The old owners now operate Saigon Royal in Douglasdale… Despite what other people are saying. I now go there instead.
Love this place. It’s right by my office so I order lunch at least once a week. I love the teryaki chicken with dumpling sauce. sooo yummy, want some right now!
