Decent food, come more for the cool vibe. The perfect place to grab a good coffee and a quick lunch. It’s a great neighbourhood hangout with lots of interesting people!
Decent coffee with absolutely atrocious service. We’ve tried many times but have never had a good experience here.Weeds has been around a long time, since before the rise of coffee culture. I’m sure that at one point it was a nice place that people enjoyed being in, but now it looks like a 90’s-era hipster graveyard, staffed by indifferent and inconsiderate students. The neighbourhood deserves better.
If this is cool, then society has been flipped upside down. If you like conversations with rude staff and enjoy bad service, this is the place for you!
Great Gem, Rude Staff. This place is awesome in regards to location and food. However, do not expect anything at all in regards to friendliness. It’s almost like they have to try hard to be that standoffish. Not sure how anyone would want to act like that on any given day. Anyway, food is great and atmosphere is cool. This out weighs the staff so I will be back all the time.
Mixed feelings.. I like the atmosphere, and I like the coffee. Don’t eat the gluten-free lemon coconut muffin. I only ate it because my girlfriend purchased it for me (not telling me that it lacked all ingredients that makes food delcious) and it would have been rude not to.The staff’s level of rudeness is determined by your own demeanor. I’ve discovered if you approach them in an overly pleasant manner, they become polite to you almost out of confusion. Kill them with kindness, ask them how their day is going, be relentless. Continuing to do so may result in them treating you line a human being (if you’re lucky). As for the coffee, top notch.
Bland food. Expensive. But honestly, I would continue to come here if I weren’t repeatedly met by RUDE staff. I’ve even given Weeds several tries, because I live so close to them and because I thought it was possible the staff person on duty that day was just having a bad day or something. No such luck. Every staff person I’ve dealt with there has been rude, which leads me to believe that type of rude customer service attitude must filter down from the top. I rather walk the 10 extra steps to the Edelweiss and give them my business instead.
Rude rude rude. Terrible experience this time around. I always enjoy the coffee and baked goods but Rude staff, hollered at my child for being loud ( I admit, my two year old was getting loud, but could have been told politely). Used to be a regular patron but will NEVER go again. Very unwelcoming to small kids. I get that the hipster vibe is what they want but we have travelled the world with our kids and have NEVER been treated in such a way before.
