Unfortunately we landed in Calgary and went to this restaurant for our first meal. First of all there was no service at all. Their set lunch thali was below average, food was super cold, had no veg as described by the owner. Thankfully we ordered only one Thai and a panner briefing and tandoori roti from the menu. I have to say, tandoori roti was really good, very very nice the best I had in long time. Paneer bhurji was nice too just very little portion. I asked for green chilies on the side and the man argued that there was one on the plate already. When I told him I want more, he said eat the red one instead! After I told him again I want green chili only he finally got me some! Really ? I wish
Mediocre East Indian Food at Swagat. We had dinner at the Swagat Restaurant on Saturday night and were totally disappointed with their food. The dinner buffet consisted of one dal dish, one mixed vegetarian curry and a lamb curry with two types of rice and nan. No appetizers, no chicken dishes and one dessert selection of kheer (rice pudding). The food was bland and the price of dinner and music at $40 per person was completely overpriced and not worth it at all. To add to that the owner of Swagat was obnoxious, arrogant and rude to customers. He should not be in the service industry if he is so clueless about customer service. We will NEVER go to Swagat Restaurant! There are way better places in Calgary to spend your entertainment dollars.
