This is exactly the kind of university Cafe that I wish was around when I was going to Grant McEwan. Wide open space, plenty of electrical outlets for your laptop, tons of big windows for natural sunlight and a view of the street outside, liquor licensed so you can choose between putting down a cold one or getting a much needed caffeine boost, and a slacker level of comfort that’s completed by an N64 for the patrons use. If I was rating the environment alone the rating would be a 4.5 but the coffee was only ok. Certainly not bad but I found the cappuccino to be unbalanced and tough on the taste buds, and the Americano was prepared ok but it’s a harsh bean they use and it made me feel a little queezy. Still a very good spot, everybody knows when it comes to a Cafe half of what you’re paying for is the atmosphere, so in that regard dirtbag is a good bet.
ONE MINUTE FROM MACEWAN.This place is great. It’s a quiet cafe (good music) with some good food and good coffee. There are some weird hipster foods that I did not try but the BLT was great and the cheese biscuits are the best thing here. They also have a great variety of craft, local and imported beers. Great for a morning coffee, study break, group project meeting place or getting wasted after a bad exam.
