My Dinner Club went here at the beginning of February for an early Chinese New Year celebration. There were only three of us who could attend so we didn’t sample as much food as we normally would have.We loved the colourful atmosphere and the many decorative lamps, lanterns, chandeliers. It was dark in areas but our seating was well lit. Our server was friendly as well. Parking is difficult here but we lucked out.We started our meal with a warm bowl of wonton soup which was perfect for such a cold night. We also shared the Rice Paper Chicken Spring rolls which were a little plain and I didn’t really like the texture of the deep fried rice paper; it was hard to chew through. We shared three meals and a big bowl of rice. We asked our waiter what his favorite thing on the menu was and he said the Hot & Spicy Chicken. That was indeed tasty but I wouldn’t call them spicy. Next we had the Imperial Peppercorn Beef Stirfry which was good. Our third pick was the Chicken Chow Mein which was my least favorite. There was hardly any chicken and it tasted very bland with pretty much no flavor.I was surprised there was no crispy duck on the menu which I had planned on ordering as a friend with a Chinese husband told me it’s always the best thing at any good Chinese restaurant. All in all, we had fun but the Chinese food we sampled didn’t feel like anything too special or different from what can be ordered at a mall food court.
