Hans has my favourite Dan Dan noodles in Calgary. I’ll definetly be back to try the spicy oxtail. Dragon City mall has lots of good food choices considering it’s size.
Being that my old office was two blocks from Chinatown, I ate here often, but could never remember the name of the restaurant. Was in the area last week and had a craving for my favourite dish on their menu, (Kung Po) Kung Pao chicken with steamed rice. After the lunch rush, so it wasnt busy. She brought me a menu and a glass of water. Ordered and she made my food to order. A few minutes later and I was enjoying my lunch. For anyone that likes spicy, this dish is a must try. There must have been 30 dried red chilies on my plate. Over ate, but felt content. A great meal for under $20.
Came here for the first time today with friends for lunch. Located in City Plaza mall right by Thai Thai on Centre Street. If it wasn’t for one of my friends who has been here before I would have never known about it since it’s hidden in the mall and no clear signs there was restaurant inside. It is quite a small shop with about 8 tables, it was great we were able to make reservations since I have read this place gets busy. My friend ordered for us and we got spicy wontons, green beans, kungpao chicken and dandan noodles with 2 bowls of rice for 4 ppl to share. Everything was absolutely amazing! The sauce from the spicy wontons was perfect on rice. The chilies from the kungpao chicken was too hot to eat on its own so I picked those out but the chicken was right amount of heat. Green beans with the minced pork wad perfectly cooked and not to soggy. Dandan noodles was soft not too mushy and the soup broth was nice. All super tasty and we were all full. Splitting the bill was only $13 each even better! I will return there again and bring my husband there
Loved the fried beans with minced pork and the garlic pork with Han’s special sauce. Both great with white rice. The spicy beef noodles soup wasn’t as spicy as I expected, but was flavorful and came in fairly large portion. I wish the beef pieces were a little more tender and fatty. Overall, it is a decent Chinese place that is reasonably priced. fortwoplz.com
Solid 4/5 for me. I was working on the weekend and I was looking for something hot and filling for lunch. I walked in the mall and the vegetarian and Korean food court options didn’t appeal to me. I noticed the lunch specials outside Han’s, so I popped in and ordered the eggplant with minced meat in soy sauce. I received a big portion of rice (next time I’ll ask for a smaller portion) and a healthy portion of silky soft eggplant. Next time, I’d pick the spicy eggplant, as I like a bit of heat in my food. I would return and check out more of their specials (after 2pm on weekdays, 11am -3pm on Saturday. The lunch specials are as cheap or cheaper than the food court stalls and the selection is more to my taste. I’ll also take My Lucky Belly’s tip and ask for less oil. hittingthesauce.wordpress.com
Absolutely fantastic hole in the wall spot for some delicious Sichuan food. The Pork in spicy sauce, Kung pao chicken (not your standard western Chinese version) and eggplant are my favorites. Owners are really nice and accommodating.
I periodically crave for the delicious Szechuan dishes from this restaurant. The food tends to be on the oily side so we always request that they prepare the dishes with less oil and less salt/soy sauce. The owners are really nice and accommodating. I highly recommend the sliced pork with garlic sauce. The thin strips of pork belly were covered in a tangy, spicy, savory, and garlicy sauce over a bed of beansprouts. I always order the 3 cup chicken as well. The chicken is marinated really nicely so the meat is flavorful and you can really taste all the different ingredients especially the basil. I also recommend the eggplant with spicy sauce. Even with less oil it’s still really oily but the flavors were really good so I keep going back for more. The sweet and sour fish filet has a thin crispy batter and the fish was still soft and flaky inside. The sauce smelled really sour but it nice and sweet as well.
