Fresh Doughnuts!. I see their postings on fb of delicious looking treats so I was glad to finally try them. I ordered the blueberry cheesecake. The doughnut was extremely fresh and had a large dollop of cream cheese with four blueberries. I would have preferred the cheese to be spread out over the top of the doughnut and more blueberries or a compote. Taste wise it was very good.
Not Impressive. After all the hype I heard about JMD, I thought they were going to do for doughnuts, what Crave did for cupcakes. I was wrong. JMD is a step up from Tim Horton’s… only in the sense that they offer some unique flavors. But their doughnuts are still quite overly sugary, and no matter how you dress them up – they are still plain doughnuts. Some of them actually taste like Tim Horton’s doughnuts. The Maple Bacon doughnut has some bacon bits on it, but you can’t really taste the bacon flavor at all. And the S’mores flavor didn’t really taste like S’mores. The graham crackers were so finely ground up and lightly sprinkled on the doughnut that you couldn’t actually taste it. It just tasted like chocolate and a bit of marshmallow. The only good thing I can say about them is that after eating a couple, they don’t sit like a rock in your stomach. But at $2.25/piece it’s still hard to swallow.
