There are restaurants which surprise me every day and Sso Yummy was one of them. They offer a simple korean cuisine run by a korean family. I tried a couple dishes here for dinner such as the beef rice bowl (lots of vegetables and compliments well with the red bean sauce), bulgogi beef sushi (tasted light and heathy), fish cakes on a stick (a huge fish cake.. compliments well with their sauce) and dumplings (filling had bits of pork and noodle, decent flavor). Come here if you’re looking for an alternative option than deep fried foods. Portions here a well sized for their prices.

The restaurant has moved and now it is located across Calgary Court. This is a small family run restaurant in Chinatown. They only have couple tables, so if you are going with a big group, strongly recommend to have the take out instead. We ordered the house special, spicy pork and the deep fried seaweed wraps. Oh my….They were Yummy! The price is reasonable and won’t hurt your wallet and the portion is good. Highly recommend! Just keep in mind this is a mom & pop joint, so don’t expect great service and the food sometimes will take a while to come!!

I have no complaints. For $10, you get a good amount of food. The deobottki is actually spicy and one of the best that I tried in Calgary. The pastries with the red beans are so delicious especially when it’s fresh but still tastes good if you bring home and toast them again. The owner is so sweet too.

The food here was delicious, and from what I could see it was made to order. The lady who runs this was so nice, not only is she the person who takes your order, she makes the food and then serves it to you as well! The Kimbap in the combo was vegetarian and was absolutely delicious. I also really like the desert which was included in the combo: it was a fries dough ball filled with a sweet bean paste filling and walnuts! A very filling meal for one person that only cost $9.99. The only thing I didn’t love was the Dukbokki, it was a bit too sweet for me. Overall an amazing meal that will keep me coming back!

Great little restaurant in chinatown. I had Kimbab, Soondae, Ddukbokki and Janchi Gooksu(noodle dish) and they all remind me of authentic Korean taste. I love their pastries as well. Definitely will come back here. Please note that they only take cash.

I love the little fishy here with red bean paste!! This place is a suggestion for lunch as you work close to downtown. All the rolls are hand made! So delicious

I had the kimbap here and it was delicious. Feels very much authentic to Korean street food, I love it a lot. The auntie here is also very nice, and always greets with a smile. They both deserve much more business, and I will continue to eat here.
