We tried these guys at Globalfest last night and it was horrible $8.50 for a brisket sandwich we figured wasn’t bad till we got it and it was small and hardly any meat and $7.00 for a cold poutine with unmelted cheese and gooey gravy will never eat here again

These guys park on the northeast side of the stadium at Stumps games. The menu is limited but the food is definitely better quality than most game fare. I had the brisket sandwich on ciabatta for $9.50 and the kid had mini donuts for $3.50. No complaints on the brisket, it was done well. But a ten spot is a bit high considering the food offerings at the games are getting better. A few extra trimmings — horseradish would have put it over the top. The donuts weren’t really donuts but chunks of dough on a stick with a side of Nutella. At almost a buck a pop. Like I said, I know it’s stadium food but there are more better choices coming. In the US you can get amazing food at sporting events. But overall, it’s good to see some creativity at the games.

Reasonably priced, good quantity of food, but some items were cold. I always look forward to food truck days at work, it allows me to try new items that I normally wouldn’t get with the usual fare at Mac Hall.On this particular day, there were 3 food trucks, one I’ve already tried so that left Tailgate and another food truck. I was in the mood for burgers so I went with Tailgate. The lady at the counter was handing out business cards and it looks like Tailgate is run by the Flames hockey club (or the Saddledome). The menu is limited but had some good choices, like bison chili. However, I opted for the burger platter, which comes with a fully loaded burger with fries. The lady taking my order was rather gruff, so I didn’t enjoy that (no smile, and tone of voice was abrupt). However, food service was quick, I didn’t wait no more than 2 min. and my lunch was ready. At $10.50 for the platter, it was reasonably priced. The burger came with a thick juicy patty, adorned with a vibrantly coloured romaine lettuce, tomatoes, monterey or swiss cheese (it was white coloured, could’ve been white cheddar), grilled onions, mushrooms, and bacon. The fries were from frozen but they were cooked extremely well, crunchy outside and fluffy inside, and I really enjoyed the seasoning on the fries.Downside was the burger was cold. Granted the walk back to the office took 5 min., but I can’t imagine food cooling down that fast (unless it was cold to begin with). There was much to like about the burger like the toppings, the patty itself was yummy but at the same time the coolness of the burger offset its brilliance.Note : even the walk back the fries were still hot.I’ll have to go ‘not like’ for Tailgate, primarily because of the gruff lady behind the counter and the cold burger.
