Wow! Absolutely fabulous dining! I was there with a large group. The room beautiful and warm. The wine was endless and at the end of the night they recorked the unfinished bottles and gave them to us to take home. Each course was out of this world! You just have to find the right occasion to try it out.
It’s a very special place with European style architecture and decor. It looks upscale but prices are not too bad especially if you are not a big drinker or eater 🙂 It’s a good thing that they offer two different size of paste, so that you can have more courses. Potato soup with pecan and leek is tasty and creative. Orecchietta with asparagus/mushroom and Spagettoni? carbonara are both quite rich. Spagettoni carbonara would be better without parmigiano cheese on the top in my opinion as its rich enough. Sometimes I think they put too much efforts instead of respect the original Italian recipe though. Carrot soup is special with some sourness , which is quite appetite opening, haha. Food were presented nicely and service was pleasant. It’s a good place for a fine date or anniversary in my opinion.
We dined at Teatro for Father’s Day supper. The service was very marginal. Our server seemed cold at first but eventually opened up. By no means was she friendly though. We then ordered oysters which were very nice; Salads that were okay; Then all of our pastas were very bland and flavourless. To be paying that kind of money for very less than average food we have decided none of would return. Not worth the $$$.
Great ambiance. Great building. Feels like you’ve stepped out of Calgary for a couple of hours. Staff is knowledgable, menu is delightful, and the wine list is great. Will definitely be going back!!
The 1.0 came from the lasagna which was spot on. We got the carpaccio which was quite bland, bone marrow sauce was very yummy though. The best part was the dessert but even then the cheesecake was incredibly underwhelming. The feature fish was plain. Just plain. I wouldn’t come back and it wasn’t worth a visit. Service was slow but our waiter had four tables seated at the same time so it wasn’t exactly his fault. Wasn’t checked on our appetizers and dessert courses.
Decor and ambiance are wonderful, it was a beautiful place to dine for an anniversary. However, food was not great or exciting. We ordered a variety of menu items. We got a Caesar salad to start, the meat board, mushroom risotto and chicken dinner. None of them were all that good or flavourful. Risotto was under cooked and had very little flavour. The chicken was a weird texture and the Caesar salad came in full leaves so you had to cut it yourself. Service was not great either, we had all the tables around us getting bread but not us and our waiter didn’t come to check on us until we flagged him down to get us more water and bread. Overall, i’d definitely go elsewhere.
We had a amazing experience at Teatro! Being in an old Toronto Dominion bank, the venue, decor and ambiance are all awesome. The service was perfect and the food was delicious. We ordered the Salmone, Ricotta Gnocchi, Pollo, Papardelle, and also had 2 desserts. I definitely recommend this place for a special occasion or if you are looking to really impress someone 🙂
