Today we decided to try the AYCE dinner sushi menu at Tokachi. These guys are located in Chinatown inside Dragon City Mall. Our sushi experience today was quite pleasant as we were one of the only tables there (one server all to ourselves). Their sushi menu menu ranges from appetizers to sushi and rolls. I really liked the squid appetizer which literally came out as one squid (decent portion). The other rare sashimi pieces you get here are the cuttlefish and smoked salmon. The fish tasted fresh and sashimi cuts were decently sized (Not thin like other places where you feel like you’re eating paper). Rolls here are standard as what you get as most places. Unfortunately these guys leave out the good rolls from their AYCE menu (sneaky). Price per person is $28.99. Would recommend you trying it out for a nice quiet dinner.

Came here with some co-workers for lunch on a Monday. I’ve come here before – while not the best sushi or ramen I’ve ever had it is always consistent. Plus close to my office which is a plus. It was quite busy in there but we came early and were seated right away. For lunch they have a ramen combo where you pick a ramen and then choose a drink and an appetizer. We each did the combo. I got the Tonkatsu Ramen with Tonkatsu broth. The noodles were al dente. The egg was cooked just right. And the broth was really good. For my appie I decided on the California roll which was excellent. The rest of my co-workers got seafood, or spicy, or regular pork with either California or gyoza. No complaints from them.Service was good for a busy lunch place. Food was fresh. I’ve never had a bad meal there.

Only all you can eat place where you can order all sashimi, and their sushi and sashimi is fresh. I love the fact that they also being flexible with their customers and allow us to order half portion of ramen and udon noodle soup . I highly recommend the agedonahi deep fry tofu

Not good. Not sure why I thought it would be. Granted we went for ramen. Perhaps sushi is better… but I won’t be finding out. Go up centre st / much better Japanese available up the hill.

The service is better now and the renovations to the restaurant look good. The restaurant looks nice inside and is a medium sized space. There is more variety in beverages now and there is now bubble tea served there if you ask the staff for the bubble tea menu. There is ramen served at this place and sushi as well. The lunch special is delicious. The staff are alright and the atmosphere is quiet and loud sometimes.

I was able to get off early from work and decided to try their all you can eat option that’s available from 2pm-430pm. And I must say, this isn’t your typical all you can eat sushi buffet. The quality is above and beyond.Nigiri (salmon, surf clam, special scallop) served with fluffy rice and fresh slices of seafood. Sushi rolls of dynamite and futo maki were HUGE portions. Ebi sunomono actually had a real prawn (none of that pre prepped tiny baby shrimp from other ayce) Miso and chicken egg drop soup were decent. Not very salty. Chicken karaage were tender and batter was delicious. Ika karaage was crispy. Had seafood and yam tempura, very thick portions and fresh from fryer. Spring rolls were very different, lots of mushrooms but enjoyed it. Beef yakisoba was a huge portion with plenty of beef! Chicken teriyaki was flame grilled then served with sauce. None of that rubber stuff you get at other ayce places. My gf wanted to get the Miso Ramen but was told it was a full portion so we decided against it! Server was very nice and helpful. Place was clean. 18.99 for a higher class ayce, I would definitely be coming back! Only complaint is very limited options, but quality trumps quantity over here!

Seeing how Dragon Chinese is closed on Tuesday… we decided to try Tokachi for their lunch specials. Ramen was about $12.. if you add $3…can have California roll and a drink. We also had the lunch roll special… California roll salmon tuna roll. $14. Pretty fresh . Sushi rice was fluffy. Salad waa good. Miso soup was lukewarm and salty. They have AYCE 18.99 but we haven’t tried it.
