Never again. I did not appreciate finding french fries half way through my shawarma. they were so gross I ended up throwing it out. They should at least inform their customers they put fries in it, so that I atleast have the choice of eating them or not. It was also the most expensive shawarma for the size, based on just that I was hoping to have a better meal. Disappointing for sure.
Tasted burnt. definitely…. Tasted burnt. definitely on the lower end of donair/shawarma spectrum that this city offers. Hard, charred/burned meat was the dominant flavor. Will not go back.
Life in a wrap with( heart and soul) ;)!!. Two years ago I seen this truck close to my house pull up, nothing special about it…I seen the guy work on it for long hours days on end. Finally the name goes up YYC Shawarma, so I go talk to him…he is one of the most positive, sincere, hard working man i have ever met…..im glad i met him and for those who havent…just take a moment to say hi, he will make your day! His food is very good, for those who agree spread the word, he will take the time to listen and make it how you want it, we need more people who put heart and soul into the food we eat, I wish the best for him and his familly! Thank you
HORRIBLE!. So I finally decided to get food from a truck cause there was no line in front of the Shawarma guy. I got a beef shawarma and thought it looked good, but on first bite my taste buds receded and my retch buds appeared….but like a trooper I soldiered on. Wow, apparently Im pretty tough cause I managed to fight through half of this meal before I decided it was dead and time for dissection. I opened the dropcloth and decided to go in. On the one hand it appeared to be real meat in here as it didnt have the usual donair appearance of sameness, on the other hand it appears they needed to get the hard ends and large chunks of grizzle out of the hopper and I was the lucky recipient. Whats with the left over French fries that made a surprise appearance. I guess its a way to add volume when you lack the imagination to put the effort into getting the taste right. The flavour, how to describe…..you know when you walk by a garbage can thats been sitting out a while and has that pungent odor…..now take that and somehow turn it into a flavour……Shawarma from a truck. What was I thinking with Chick Pea just a few more steps away!!!! My laziness got the better of me and I am a worse man for it.
Yum!. The owner gave us a sample before we bought. Mmm chicken was great! No complaints.
Chicken Shawrama. I had the regular chicken shawarma at lunch today and had the guy load it up. He sure did! It was messy, spicy and tasty. It isn’t the best chicken shawarma I have had in Calgary but it’s pretty tasty. My friends tried the Tandoori shawarma and said it was a yummy twist on the usual fare. It was served with tamarind sauce and on naan instead of pita. They had a butter chicken one as well. I will have to go back and try that one out.
Yum Yummers!!!. This is easily one of my most fave food trucks in Calgary! I love the beef donair best. The meat is nicely seasoned & veggies are always fresh. I highly recommend you give ’em a try!
