We got takeaway form hear, and even though it sat wrapped in newspaper for the drive home the batter was still nice and crisp the fries where good and hand cut. Both our clam strips and fish where cooked nicely not dry. I would not get the halibut again, you just don’t get the nice batter to fish ratio that you do with the cod. thought the fish was a little under seasoned but once you take a bite with the tarter sauce, it is very nice. going to come back and eat in store in the future.

i visited Dochertys recently very very disappointed frozen chips really. I have eaten at other british chips shop. Sorry you just not measure up. I was so looking for to this experience i really was. This battier on the fish was lovely the fish inside was transparent not really cooked. We got a cornish pastie to take away. When i open the box the smell was gross. It never go eaten just thrown in the bin. Nice try not this is no way UK fish and chips. Just read some of the review would like to add YES you do use frozen chips. I know i make my own chips and cook them in lard just like home

First time at this place and I found Frozen triangle trout & square frozen halibut, chips were frozen bagged. Nothing here is made fresh or battered fresh simply a reheat spot for frozen food. Skip this place or go with Captain Highliner from the frozen section at Safeway, cheaper. Poor service, undercooked fish. Won’t be returning or recommending.

Done with Docherty’s…. Sad, for years I’d be going to Docherty’s for my occasional meal of haggis and chips. It’s been quite a while since I had done this and will never bother again. The haggis tasted okay but now they obviously buy a large sausage style haggis, cut it into rounds, then batter and deep fry it. I would have been okay with that, except they left the inedible sausage casing on the meat. Big turn off on my first bite. When I phoned to inquire as to whether they normally leave the casing on, or not, all I got was an apology. Very sorry, man. So am I…

Amazing!!. Absolutely phenomenal food. The fish is cooked perfectly, the batter is light and crispy. The corn fritters are perfect!!! I will definitely bring my friends and family here. Just wish I hadn’t eaten so much, so I could try the deep fried mars bar.

Great British Food. Docherty’s is a great place to go! We have been there 4 times in the past year, and everytime we have gone we have had great service, and the best fish and chips! Hot, crispy and how you want them to taste. The prices are reasonable. I prefer going there over any other place, way better prices and food than the chain fish and chip shop.
