Jacks drive in for dinner. Ordered at an old style drive through board with speaker hanging off the side. Choice is various burgers, fries, onion rings, pop, milk shakes and ice cream. Ordered there version of a mozza burgers, strawberry shakes and onion rings. Burgers are very disappointing. Thick buns, thin reddish brown patties of non flavored meat, undercooked bacon, a few limp crispy onions, a white cheese slice and a tomato thicker than the burger patty. Strawberry milkshake is very pink in color, no strawberry pieces found in it and is lacking any real strawberry flavor. Onion rings are crispy with average flavor. Overall disappointing stop.
We really enjoyed this place. It came up on groupon and we thought it was a great deal ! The burger buns were super fresh and the burgers were great. The mozza burger was delicious with lots of toppings. The onion rings and mozza sticks were good. And it’s a cute little stop !
Disgusting burgers. Ice cream better than most places. So if you want just ice cream go here but if you’d like a meal go somewhere else. We’ve been going to Jack’s for over 30 years, not sure when but somewhere along the way the burger quality took a turn for the worst.
Have been here once. Was intrigued by the decor inside and out. The place has been here 50+ years so it has to be good, right? Wrong. Just your basic, frozen patty burger. Not terrible, but nothing special. I found it to be a bit pricey as well once I received my order. Would have been good value if it were a homemade patty.
This is an icon to the city of Spruce Grove. Jack’s has been around for over 50 years. It is almost a place that is frozen in time. The menu is frozen in time as well. You won’t find the fancy gourmet burgers here. Jack’s serves up some tasty food, but the patties are of the frozen variety, the buns are plain hamburger buns and the fries and onion rings are just that. Nothing pretentious here. The salsa burger here is my favorite. It is a huge sloppy mess, but so delicious! I am sure the salsa is out of a jar, and the cheese is processed. There is just something about this place that keeps me coming back again and again. yegfoodie.com
Stopped in for a cheeseburger and a shake. Burger was tasty but you could tell it was frozen patty, the shake was the best I’ve had in the Edmonton area would definitely go back.
First time here after living in Spruce for 2 years and I was absolutely disappointed. I expected fresh, home made burgers. I received a frozen/reheated patty that barely resembled a burger. I will not go here again nor recommend this place to anyone. There are many other chain burger joints in town now that make FRESH burgers. Go to FatBurger, Soda Jerks, even Carl’s Junior is better.
