Extremely racist group. Will only be going to IT’SUSHI on the west side of spruce from now on. My husband and I came here for our anniversary. When we called they said they do not take reservations. While we waited to be seated 2 Asian couples came in, spoke with the person seating and were seated ahead of us. When I asked why, the man said they made a reservation. When I asked why I wasn’t able to he said it’s only for certain guests and crisply turned and walked away from me.I tried not to be disheartened but what a rude way to treat a couple on their anniversary. i should have just left. But we wanted to have a good evening so we waited for 45 minutes to be seated. We were seated in the middle section, able to see everything, and watched as all of the asian customers were first helped and served. I couldn’t believe it. I ordered sunomono, someone posted a picture of it. it was great. We ordered a chopchop roll but they brought out something else and when I said I had ordered the chopchop roll the waiter huffed at me and took the plate and walked away.I generally will put up with bad service for great food. I love Sushi Wasabi and they aren’t super with the service. But they make amazing food. However I will never be back here.I did however find an amazing joy of a restaurant in IT’SUSHI which is located by the Husky on the west end. It is a korean restaurant that serves GORGEOUS and DELICIOUS sushi. Please go there. I can’t believe these guys have such a high rating. making fake accounts to inflate ratings is a terrible practice.
We are so lucky to have Sakai out here in Spruce Grove! Every time we have come here it has been fantastic. On thing I highly value in a business is consistency, and they have always been consistently awesome. You can really tell they care, and take pride in what they do. Keep it up Sakai!
My friends and I come here for lunch quite often and the food is always great and the staff is very friendly. We typically order Bento boxes and have never been disappointed!
Sakai is pretty delicious. I’ve been a few times and it hasn’t been too busy, service was decent and food pretty awesome. The tuna tataki is amazing, gyoza seemed a bit undercooked when I was there (maybe a bad day), veggie and shrimp tempura was delicious. The miso soup is good, but I think It’sushi’s is much better. The rolls were all really good but seem to have less variety. A lot of the rolls have tempura shrimp as the base, which is tasty, but seemed boring after trying them all. My favourites were the spider roll (soft shell crab), volcano roll, and caterpillar roll. All delicious.
I am allergic to fish, so I ordered vegetables and noodles thinking it would be fine. I have eaten at MANY Japanese restaurants with no issue. As it turns out, every single item on the menu is made with fish extract or fried in the same pan/basket as the fish. I got very sick from an appetizer and had to send my dinner back. The manager essentially told me it was my own fault that I had come there in the first place and did not offer so much as an apology. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!
Food was okay but the wait was not necessary there was only 7 tables with anyone at them, and service was really slow, would rather go to it sushi,
One of the best sushi restaurants my boyfriend and I have ever been to. We read up on some other reviews and they said it was very busy, however we went there on a Sunday evening so maybe it was slower that day. The service and food were great definitely worth the drive as we live about 40 mins away ! The sashimi and beef tataki were the best we have had almost anywhere in Edmonton. The agadashi tofu was very good as well but could be better if the tempura sauce had a bit of a sweeter flavour to it. Overall this is a great place to eat and we would definitely drive out there again and recommend this place to others.
