Early Valentines. Food was fantastic. Service was even better than the food. Samantha was attentive, made excellent recommendations after just a few questions, was very knowledgeable about food and drink choices, and finished the evening off in style. Thank you kitchen and thank you Samantha!
We go to Halo quite often, but not always by choice. The food is extremely hit and miss (you either get a really good plate of food or one you grudgingly eat). They have extremely slow service, and often mix up your order (including once, when someone in our party was allergic to onions and told the server, only to notice onion in her meal half way through eating it). Spin the wheel and take a chance?
It was okay. Good food, bland atmosphere. We ate at Halo last week as we needed to be at the airport in the evening. It is a fairly basic hotel restaurant that you could find in and moderate hotel across North America. The food was good, we had salmon and pasta of the day. A bit too pricey for what it was, however at an airport one must expect that prices will be higher. The service was very good, our waitress was polite and attentive. The decor is fairly bland. Lots of white and some fairly uncomfortable chairs with fixed arms too high to easily eat from. I kept bumping my elbows and had to lean forward or hold my arms unnaturally high. It had the look of trying too hard to be trendy. It was a little noisy with music from the adjacent lounge interfering with quiet conversation. As far as a place to eat at an airport it is certainly better than the chain restaurant options however as a place to go to in and of itself there are better for the price.
Not my cup of tea. The menu and the atmosphere are very pretentious and the food just does not live up to the expectation. Below average food at above average prices.
Great Food & Amazing Service. I am a self-confessed foodie, but not a food or restaurant snob. I worked many years within the service industry. I believe in quality and fair value. I have travelled to Edmonton many times, and have enjoyed many of the local restaurants. This was my first visit to Halo Restaurant at Renaissance Airport Hotel. I had heard about it that there is great food. They have a good selection on their menu. We ordered Crusted Calamari as friend recommended in his last visit and a couple of other munchies with our drinks. Calamari was balanced cooked and had a great flavour! . Service was very professional and I loved the decor in the restaurant with a modern twist! It was a quick visit but am sure, will visit this place again. Definitely would recommend this place.K.
