Amazing amazing donairs! The staff/owner is very friendly to spark up on a conversation when its not too busy! I order the Large Donair with all the fixings. The location is just off of 17th ave with ample parking available for the driving folk. For me its a hop skip and a jump away so I walk! Not much available for seating but its a more quaint environment and its best to order take out anyway! The portions are quite filling and the price is reasonable.
We ordered delivery and the food was decent. The falafel platter came in quite a big portion, with salad, rice, and pita bread, on top of the vegetarian croquettes. The beef donair wrap was filling and tasty as well. The chicken shawarma poutine was a little mushy and soggy (probably from the gravy and the steam), but was in generous portion. Overall, it was acceptable delivery food. fortwoplz.com
Gave Damascus a try when Shawrama Knight around the corner closed. Went with the chicken platter, chicken was a bit gristly but otherwise pretty good, didn’t really set itself apart from other similar places good or bad. What really turned me off was how insubstantial the platter was. You get the chicken, rice, and a very basic salad. That’s it. No garlic potatoes, no hummus, not even any pita bread – all stuff I would regard as obvious inclusions for the same kind of meal at any other shawrama place. Considering the prices they charge I was very disappointed, much better value to be found elsewhere on 17th.
The best shawerma in Calgary, hands down. The guys that run the place are super friendly and they make a very authentic shawerma sandwich. Prepared as if you were to order it back in the middle east. I vow not to eat a shawerma elsewhere again!
Great food. Friendly staff and very tasty shawarma, well worth the effort to get to. We have been many times in the past and continue to go well into the future
Great food, very well prepared! Friendly staff, and nice variety. These guys know how to make good donairs!
OK, but not a destination. An average Schwarma, but so many other options nearby.
