Dark and dingy pub with one pool table. I was impressed with the menu choice and prices, however they don’t fulfil them. I ordered a burger that comes with a huge choice of toppings (at no extra charge), one side and either beans or coleslaw. I chose my side as a salad with beans in the side and no mayo on the burger. I never did get the beans on the side, my salad was sad and my burger had mayo. Service was friendly but very slow. Meh.
Recently moved into the area and was hoping Woodys would be our new local pub. Sadly, not a chance. It was awful. What is with the service? It was the worst I’ve had in a long time. And the food wasn’t much better. Hubby and I sat at a table for long enough to be annoyed before one of the two waitresses came over. There was only one other table in the place btw. Should have been a sign. We ordered drinks and pickles to start which were pretty much the same as anywhere. Once they were dropped off though the waitress disappeared. I had to go to the bar for cutlery, napkins, side plates, etc. For dinner there was a special on for two burgers that we decided to try. They were so bad! Tasted like they had been boiled and thrown on soggy buns. Absolutely no effort put into the food. Once our dinner was dropped off she disappeared again for pretty much the rest of our visit. I had originally asked what came on the burgers and was told the usual, lettuce pickles tomato. They came with no pickles and when I asked for them they never came. We didn’t eat the burgers as they were nasty and just wanted to leave but I mentioned the pickles and she said it was taking so long because they had to slice them. It doesn’t take that long to slice a pickle when there are no other customers eating in the whole place, but really she forgot or just didn’t care. Asked for the bill twice before we got it. I was really blown away by just how awful the service was. The website is down so maybe this is the end for Woodys. Won’t be back.
Really disappointed with our meal tonight. Got the $9 steak sandwich special (x2) with a Caesar salad and woodchips, coke and beer and it cost almost $40. Got charged $5 for coke to have one refill and our steaks were awful. Took a long time for food. Been here for wing night but otherwise I won’t be back! Should have just ordered off the regular menu as the deal wasn’t much of a deal. Don’t go here unless it’s wing night – awful!
The worst service and they don’t even know it. Was in there on a Tuesday night, not overly busy ordered a couple of drinks and some food. 35 minutes goes by no server no food.Finally we ask what’s going on the waitress says it will be another 10 minutes. I said hey listen we can’t wait anymore, we got to leave. The waitress says let me get your bill. I said what do you mean bill look we had to sips of our drinks waiting for the food. I’m not paying any bill. My girlfriend ended up paying for the drinks that we never drank cause they were going to charge us with theft. Avoid this place it’s the worst. ( the drinks were a Pepsi and a crane soda)
Another average pub trying to be everything to everybody. Dead ambiance last night. Service miserable. One beer and out. Looked at the menu but like most pubs, menu is so common…no thought whatsoever.
The waitress was really nice, the food was okay and the food prices were good. Went there to hear some live music but after waiting for 2 hours past the time it was supposed to start (and the band just waiting to play), our large group left. The Blue Jays were on the TV for a while but there was a rain delay so they put on a bit of the Flames and a bit of another hockey game and the band didn’t play? Not good! Even if the game stayed on, I think we can watch a TV AND listen to music at the same time. I hadn’t been here for a long time and won’t be going back any time soon. We weren’t the only ones who wanted to hear the music so more unhappy folks left besides us.
I’ve been here a couple of times with my husband now. The food is ok. They NEED to improve their beer selection!! Nothing is extraordinary and nothing is exceptionally bad either. Service definitely is lacking. It’s a decent local pub because it’s the only local pub in the area so…. Yeah. =)
