Where else in Calgary can you get a bucket of peel and eat shrimp for brunch?! $14! Very affordable! The food is high quality for sure. Its a bit of a strange menu for brunch but can be quite delectable. I especially loved the grapefruit mimosas!! They do have a selection of raw oysters but are quite pricey with very weak side sauces.Cant wait to go back and try some more!

We decided to check it out after frequenting Open Range on numerous occasions. I understand that our server was most likely completely new but taking orders mustve not been his forte. We had asked for ONE order of a dish for the kids and he put in 2 orders of the same dish. Obviously at their age theyre unable to finish an entire serving so that went to complete waste and of course we were charged for 2 plates. No suggestions or anything of the sort. The food was quite mediocre. First impressions are so important and a huge factor as to whether or not wed return to an establishment. Unfortunately, even though theyre a 2 minutes drive from home, we will not return even if we crave oysters.

Pricey, but quaint. $3 oysters is a bit outrageous even in Calgary. Good selection of local trout, it’s not often you see walleye on the menu — at $30 a plate. The soft shell crab club is decadent — at $17. As much as there is to be said for local ingredients you can’t tell me the frogs legs aren’t frozen, $14 later. But this is Calgary and you kind of have to take the cookies when they’re passed, even with seafood.

This place never disappoints. I love seafood, and it’s not easy to find a place in the city that can cook it as well as they do at Big Fish. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. The music deserves a special mention – all of my favourite names in jazz <3I’ve been here a few times, and the consistency is just one of the many reasons why this is officially my favourite restaurant in Calgary. A great place for a date or for dinner with friends.

I went on a Tuesday night and it was not packed at all making the atmosphere even more enjoyable but the food is overwhelmingly the main reason for this review. It was exceptional. This is one one the only restaurants I’ve been to where the price tag feels warranted. The ingredients are extremely high quality and combined in unique ways. I can recommend the chowder, the lamb and lobster burger, the shrimp lasagna, and the Manitoba walleye. I am also looking forward to coming back for breakfast some time. 🙂

I had the Po boy py slider. Its was genius, they used a thin potato chip instead of bread which makes your taste bud focus on the inside instead of lost in bread, the citrus seaweed slaw was bright and vibrant to cut through the fatyness of oyster but the interesting thing was the mouth feel of the seawood slaw. It had a crispness of fresh vegtables, eldentay snappyness. Oyster was juicy and smoky is a very subtle way.

I so wish this restaurant was in Edmonton. I enjoyed the seafood dishes very much but didn’t enjoy the meat dishes as much. I am sure the meat dishes weren’t bad, but in comparison to the seafood, I wish I had spent my money on seafood instead. First things first, I came here for Sunday brunch and they had mussels. How wonderful. Mussels for brunch was a seemingly foreign idea until I was blown away by how big and juicy the mussels were. I wish I came here on a mussels night and just indulge myself. Juicy, full of sea life, and perfectly boiled just for me. Yum. The soft shell crab sandwich was also very good. It wasn’t as dry as I thought. There are sauces to dip on the table so that helped a bit too. The clam chowder was also very good. I could have had it all to myself but I was sharing it with some friends. Now, onto the not so good things, the duck I had was rather bland. The truffle and fried egg on top was a nice touch but I couldn’t taste much salt on my food. Maybe I was too spoiled by the seafood or something. I still finished it but I wish I had ordered a seafood dish instead. Ah well. Live and learn. Maybe they’ll improve some day, who knows?
