Came here for dinner tonight and experienced some of the worst service I have ever seen in a restaurant. We were seated quickly when we arrived and were greeted by a man who gave us menus. He took our drink order and then came back to take the food order. Once the food arrived we were not checked on a single time. We were not given refills on our drinks or offered the free pita bread. We had to go up to the counter and ask for our drinks to be refilled and to have our food packaged up. We also had ordered baklavas for dessert which was never served (didnt charge). Staff were keen on cleaning the floors and tables and completely ignoring everyone seated. The food was good, but the service was a joke.
Hidden gem serving authentic, hearty Persian fare at great prices in a cosy setting. The staff here were all incredibly friendly and clearly passionate about the food they were serving. We ordered the Zereshk Polo ($9.99), Lamb Souvlaki ($12.99), and Mixed Kubideh ($11.99). To start you get a massive basket of complimentary pita bread with butter (I might have preferred something other than butter, but again, it’s free, so I’m not complaining). Our food arrived quickly. Each dish was served with an absolutely massive portion of some of the fluffiest, most delicious rice I’ve had in a while. The meat was all decently seasoned and tender. None of the flavours were overly complex, but similar to what I’ve had at other Persian restaurants. If you’re a fan of grilled meat on a stick, definitely give House of Kabob a go.
Amazing food at a great price. The only thing missing is red wine or to have the option to bring our own wine. A good meal without a glass of wine is not as delicious.
