Love how you can build your own bowls here even though their menu bowls are already really good! Prices are a bit steep but it always feels worthy when youre eating healthy haha! Coworker tells me she loves their hot dogs but I can never justify ordering a hot dog from here when there are so many other good options!
Excellent poke bowl with a lot of unique trimmings and a great price. Worth the trek from downtown for some superior food at an even better price. The dogs look amazing to although I am yet to try one.
Probably the most exciting thing to come to Calgary. Poke is blowing up everywhere else and very happy to have a good poke place in town. This is my go to poke place in Calgary. I’ve been here at least 4-5 times and happy every time i decide to come to Po-ke. Great portion sizes, protein portions are good for Calgary (not Van or Hawaii size), fantastic layers of flavor down the rice and different marinading steps/sauces. 8/10. Toppings and everything is on point.
Really enjoyed the traditional bowl which I had ordered the first 4 times I got there. This time, the trad tuna was two distinct colours – red and a brownish/gray. When I asked how fresh the tuna was, the staff assured me the tuna was hand cut fresh every day, and the colour change was only because the tuna had been marinated. But the darker tuna tasted off – old and not at all fresh, and I had to pick it out. Last visit.
So fresh and an amazing value. Basically you are getting sushi in a bowl and I always spend $20+ if I want to be totally full on sushi. This place the regular size is more than enough food and around $13 per bowl. Love that there are so many options. You can also order through door dash and it’s delivered for free to your door!!!
I ordered a bowl (a while back, like 2 months ago) and I thought it was okay and unique since I’ve never had Poke before, but my friends didn’t like it as much. It’s also quite pricey! The portions were quite generous and considering that it’s raw fish – it’s bound to be a bit pricey. The drinks don’t have prices on them at all so you spend even more than you anticipate. The only thing I thought wasn’t as good was that, for a place that serves raw fish — the store was quite warm and stuffy (it was a hot day outside but the store felt hotter, at least to me) which worries me because raw fish should be kept at cool temperatures! If kept at warm temperatures for a prolonged amount of time — it would be in a dangerous zone, potentially not good to eat!! I’ve only been there once so far, so I can’t speak for any other days. I might give it another shot later on.
The fish tasted fresh and the ingredients blended well with everything. I also tried the spam musubi, which had too much sauce for my liking. The prices were a bit steep for what you get. I paid around $18 for my poke bowl and the spam Musubi.
