Love it love it love it! I’ve been to quite a few Chinese restaurants in the area and this one is by far my favourite. Great service great people and most of all great food! Never have I ever eaten something from here that I wasn’t amazed by! Everything tastes so delicious and always does. Me and my family usually go to the buffet ( I mean $14.99 is pretty cheap for an all you can eat buffet!) But ordering off the menu is great too! I love the staff and everyone that works there they are all so welcoming and kind. I’m impressed by the fact that there is no MSG product in their food and it is not one bit greasy like many of the other chinese restaurants in didsbury and olds are! Also I love the music selection there! Really brings me back to the good ol’ days. I could sit in there for hours listening to the awesome songs! Anyways if you are looking for a great place to eat with the family and actually want to ENJOY your time! I 100% recommend the golden river!

The menu posted here as of June 2014 is out of date, so some of the prices aren’t the same (this was actually brought up by a woman ordering take out while I was in there last week) but they have new ones in the restaurant.
Busy place even at 7 on a Saturday. What stands out for me mostly was the very warm food temperature. Possibly because of the busy kitchen. The ginger beef was the usual thick coating, however, large shreds of ginger were plentiful. That’s one peve I have with ginger beef in American Chinese food…the lack of ginger. Anyhow, any dish I tried on the buffet was fresh and tasty. Goof job! I’ll be back.

Great chicken balls! And the seafood hot pot is amazing. Definitly worth checking out. The War Won Ton could use more flavor, some cilantro wouldn’t hurt but all in all a great place to eat.
Chicken Balls to die for!. Their food is amazing. The chicken balls are not the typical tiny piece of chicken lost in a huge gob of batter… it is a large juicy flavorful piece of chicken in a light batter… all their food is GREAT!!!
Eaten here several times and always excellent. Not the usual Chinese. Chicken balls are large chunks of meat lightly battered instead of the typical small cube of meat lost in 2 inches of batter.
