We came for a Sunday Brunch. There was a live guitarist playing. He started at 11:00, just as we were arriving. The place was nearly full. The service was great. Very friendly and inviting. Coffee came non-stop refills for as long as we wanted. The food was simple yet, good. One of our group had the special and she said it was fabulous. The Eggs Benedict, served on their homemade biscuit and pea meal back bacon. Prices were very good. It was a very cozy little old fashioned diner. We enjoyed it a lot and would definitely go back.

I hadn’t heard of The Commodore until it was featured on TV. Apparently it’s the oldest diner in the city. I believe it, especially since the Silk Hat closed. The breakfast was very reasonably priced. It was all your traditional food. Mine was worth what I paid for it. It was all okay. The coffee was reminiscent of@ restaurant coffees when I was young. I think that they called it Dixon’s coffee back then. Overall if you like diners and especially like low prices, you should try it. This is a great place for students. The bonus is that that is has lots of genuine chacter and the staff are friendly.

Loved the look of the place as soon as I walked through the door. Old school Binet feel just like back in Montreal in the 70’s. The stools were all authentic and the servers were really friendly. The menu is a nice little reminder of what breakfast used to be, eggs and bacon. Loved the whole feeling. Very comfortable and warm. The servings are a bit small but the chef makes up for it with TLC and a nice taste. To top it off they have an old school milk shake blender, and serve floats!!! How can u not love this place

Best mom and pop restaurant around. From halifax to edmonton, by far the most friendliest and tastiest place to be filling your body with good old scrumptious meals like you had as a child (no matter what your age). great staff, a menu that fits any desire and an all day breakfast! where else would you want to go? if you have not checked it out and are by now a repeat customer, fill your boots, or shoes, and beat a path to a going concern (a happy belly). – jat

This place has the character of Commodore 64 but that’s about it. Food quality is like cafeteria (if not worse)…. I’d recommend coming here once to see if you are in or out. I’m an outtie. I thought I was cool because I like the most hole in the wall places like Steel Wheels and old Shanghai 456 location, but this place is just haha… one step more hole in the wall. The prices are so cheap here it makes you wonder, but it’ll all make sense when the food comes. Check it out! I already did!

How can this place rate 91%. Go to MacDonald’s, the food will be so much better than here. They must be paying for the rating.27 Sep, 2014Clam chowder. Cornstarch and water. gross

Cute little 50s looking place and very reasonable prices. Unfortunately the food is very bland. Typical eggs and roasted potatoes without any flair. Toast comes out of a table top toaster and not grilled crunchy like most places. The service was decent but the food is just plain boring. Cash only also makes this place inconvenient.
